Thank you for visiting our preschool site. We hope that the information you find here will be helpful to those who are already cooperative parents, but also to those looking for a preschool for the 3-5 year old child.
A cooperative preschool is one that focuses on learning through play. Please see our Philosophy section for more details on how our preschool is different from public and other private preschools available in our area.

Southwest Co-operative Preschool is fully licensed by the State of Michigan, and meets all requirements for Child Care regulations.

Philiosophy

At Southwest Cooperative Preschool we believe that young children learn through play. Materials and opportunities are provided for children to build, create, experiment, explore, socialize and imitate.

We believe the parent is an integral part of a young child's development, therefore, the parent's involvement in the preschool is an essential part of our program.

Our Goal is to give our children positive self-esteem, begin to broaden their world, and encourage their natural curiosity.

We also provide ourselves with positive self-esteem as parents and strengthen the family unit as we also begin to "let go" of our children.

I have had my oldest son in the M-W-F 4 yrs old class and he just loved it. It was great to be able to work in the classroom from time to time in order to see how he was doing with other kids his age and to watch him grow while learning too. I now have my second son in the 3 year old class and he has just grown so much already this year. It is exciting to watch.

Current Events

We accept registrations any time throughout the school year. We have openings available in the Tues-Thurs A.M class for 3 yr olds. To qualify for this class the child needs to be currently 3 or turning 3 before Dec. 1st.     Our M-W-F A.M. class for 4 yr olds is now full.
