I would like to try and give back a little bit to various charitable organizations and would love your help! This month I am collecting pyjamas, toiletries, slippers, socks and undies(all new please)for the woman's shelter. They are in need of these items right now,all sizes for woman and children. If you would like to donate, you can drop them off at my house or arrange for me to pick them up.I am looking for a name for my charity and would love if you have any name ideas.
Thanks for all your support!

So after lots of thinking,I finally decided on my new name -sweetTree photography. With the help of my husband and my girlfriend Jules,we decided that the name suits me perfectly.
I thought sweet was a word that describes the things I really love in life.
sweet:
Like sweets of all sorts candies, cookies, chocolate, cupcakes, fruit in season of any sort(ecspecially pineapple),vanilla cake(mmm with cream cheese icing)and chocolate chip mint ice cream.Sweet smells like vanilla, cocunut, grapefruit, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and sweet smells of the earth like rain, the ocean, pine needles and flowers in a meadow.Sweet music like Jack Johnson,Bright Eyes and Neko Case. Also sweet kisses with pink tinted mint smelling co bigelow smeared on my lips.Super sweet times with my girlfriends-like weekends away shopping, dinners out, movie nights and walks. But mostly and best of all my sweet little Eastie who is the sweetest little boy I know.
I think that Tree describes all the different parts of living the best life possible.
Tree:
Makes me think of family and all the good times spent around the kitchen table talking, laughing, and eating. It makes me think of the tree of life and how you need to live every day in the moment and try to not take anything for granted. It also makes me think of all things organically grown and utilizing what the good earth provides for us but trying not to abuse it.It may mean taking baby steps or thinking BIG.The choice is ours.A tree to me symbolizes beauty and longevity as does a photograph.A tree standing captures a new feeling amongst the different seasons as it brings new life to our changing world.
I think photography captures a moment in your life that only a memory can hold better.
Photography:
I love the way a picture makes me feel.Taking pictures for others also brings a happiness I have never felt before,I love the interaction wth people and love even more how I get to be there for the moments that really matter in people's life.I also love the opportunities I get to travel and with this it brings new photos.Photos that mean something to me and hopefully these photos tell a story of the places I have travelled to others. Photography is my way of making people smile and passing on these memories for years to come. For my love of photography I would like to dedicate my new business to my dad who loved taking pictures.I will always remember Christmas mornings waiting and waiting to open our gifts while my dad took forever to set up the camera, the tripod, the new batteries etc to get that perfect shot of us in front of the sparkly tree. His last photos were taken in Hawaii of the most stunning rainbow.I like to think that this was his rainbow full of colors and life.In his memory my gift to everyone is a regift from my dad. That is my love of taking pictures.
We met Ben and Stacie in our prenatal class and have been fortunate enough to keep in touch since our kids were born.Nina, their sweet little girl is 17 months old and I went on 2 separate occassions to photograph her.For the first shoot,we stayed outside playing with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, went to the park and then went inside to read some of Nina's favorite books. The second shoot we timed to get their amazing apple trees in full bloom for the family session. The backyard trees had the most beautiful pink blossoms which made for some naturally great photos.Nina also had a very special dress that came from her grandmother who was living in Japan that was made from the most beautiful and colorful material.I loved capturing Nina's personality in doing everyday things like reading books, singing and being outside.I loved how much you laughed and realized I don't know the words to very many children's songs after hearing you both sing to Nina.Thank you for the opportunity to take your photos, hope you enjoy them!
We went to Taber this past weekend for Melody's high school graduation.Melody is Curtis's little cousin and I have known her for about 7 years now. When she got out of the car,I was in awe of how beautiful she looked. She was absolutely stunning in her purple gown which just happens to be one of her favorite colors.Taking great photos of Mel is so easy as she has the perfect complexion and a smile and giggle that is contagious. We also lucked out to find a field of canola which complimented her dress againt the bright yellow as well as an old abandoned house with some great lighting coming from the knocked out windows.Mel was a trooper willing to hike over bird droppings(and a dead bird),rummage through old remains of an abandoned house and hike into fields with her high heels.I am so excited that I got to be a part of her day and I hope that you will be successful and happy in all that comes your way.Happy Graduation!
Svea just turned ONE and I had a blast photographing her.I love this age so much because everything is new and exciting, she just recently took her very first steps and it is so sweet to see her and my little guy Easton grow together. It was so fun watching her dig into her giant cupcake, she was such a little lady only taking tiny bits of icing and a couple of sprinkles. The best was when Thelea(mommy) told her to kiss the cake and after many times of kissing her cake she would look up at us with these great big beautiful eyes and icing on her nose and lips.I love that Easton and her are BFF's(well for now at least since we still have some control over these things-right Thelea?)We had many wardrobe changes as she was in such great spirits and captured so many great moments throughout the day.
Happy 1st Birthday Svea!
Sweet baby Morgan has such a chilled little personality, she is so calm it is hard to believe she was a newborn when photographing her.She is the little miracle as seen below in the baby blossom maternity photos.Just mom and Morgan came for a little mini photo session together and it is so apparent that they are meant for each other.Since Mel the mommy is a good friend of mine she let me experiment with some new shots and positions,so thank you for that.I think Morgan is adorable and the perfect completion to the Gukert family.Congratulations on your sweet baby girl and keep enjoying every moment of being a new mom.I am looking forward to doing your family photos soon now that your family is complete. We are also so excited to have lots of playdates and more excuses to get together.
Here is an updated picture of Easton also getting ready for fall.I love that he actually wore this hat for longer than 5 seconds although he was being shy in it and wouldn't look at me with it on.He is sitting on some boxes from Ikea that have been in that same place in the hallway for about a month now.It is his little seat and every once in a while he says ready and jumps off of it.Happy Fall Eastie.I love you.
