4/11/14 Thank You for All the Tali Birthday Wishes...
We are so blessed to have received so many kindnesses and so much love on 4/9/14, which would have been Tali's 29th birthday. Rich and I spent a quiet day, just thinking and feeling, took sunflowers to Tali and spent time with her, and then decided to get birthday cake to mark the end of the day. Somehow it seemed fitting.
Gerard, thank you for the beautiful sunflowers, which made me (and Tali, I'm sure) smile, especially since that's what we took her. Chloe--thank you for getting gerbera daisies and sharing time with Mary Lou. Vanessa, thank you for the beautiful text. Blake, Lori and Mindy, thank you for honoring Tali. And a huge thank you to Christine, who wrote the following:

Dear Rabbi and Mrs. Agler, and friends of Tali,

I just wanted to send all of you a quick hello, as we all think of Tali on her birthday.  Today, I am in Minneapolis.  I went for a jog along the start of the Mississippi River, and I was overcome with awe-- being someone so small beside something so big.  I paused to pray for Tali and for all of you. Sometimes we can all feel so small, beside something as big as grief or sorrow.  But, we are united together as a maginficently blessed club of people, who had the privilege of knowing Tali. I might be overextending the metaphor, but I just wanted to send you prayers.  No matter where we are, Tali is with us.  Hope all of you are doing well.

Take care and God bless,
Christine

CELEBRATING TALI

This is a place for Tali's friends and family to share thoughts, photos and stories and to celebrate Tali's life. While it is not necessary to become a member of Shutterfly to access this page, membership is free and allows everyone to contribute to this page.

There are tabs above and sections below and we want to fill them all with wonderful memories of Tali's amazing life. Every post about Tali makes us more grateful for her presence in our lives, so please share your memories with us.

We are asking that contributions be made in Tali's memory to:

Center for Domestic Training and Development and its newly established project, TALIA AGLER GIRLS' SHELTER (TAGS) in Nairobi, Kenya. Thank you to everyone who made the Global Giving challenge a success and earned TAGS a place on its website and a way to collect up to $100,000!! PLEASE FRIEND TAGS ON FACEBOOK AND PASS ON THE INFO ABOUT THIS PROJECT! TELL YOUR FRIENDS, CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN!

Please see the links to the right to learn about the life-changing work done there, including   LINKS to 2 beautiful youtube videos.

We are grateful that Tali's employer, Chemonics, continues to facilitate the collection and distribution of contributions to the CDTD. So now there are 2 ways to contribute: through the Global Giving website, or through Chemonics! These funds are being put to very good use by the Talia Agler Girls' Shelter in Nairobi.
Please make checks out to Chemonics, with "Talia Agler Memorial Fund" in the Memo line and send to:

Chemonics
Talia Agler Memorial Fund
1717 H Street, NW
Washington, D.C. 20006

Or you may make contributions to the Religious Action Center of the Union for Reform Judaism, Talia Agler Memorial Fund; please see link to the right to learn about the important work of the RAC.

Please also consider becoming an organ donor in Tali's memory. Her donation of her heart, liver, pancreas, kidneys and one lung changed the lives of 5 recipients and the people who love them. Please visit  the Organ Donor website, listed to the right, for information and to sign up. On Wednesday, April 24, 2013, Rich and I met Martha LeFebvre, who received Tali's "perfect heart." The emotional meeting, which included Martha's husband, Bart, was filmed by the local Washington NBC station, and covered by the Florida Keys Free Press. Please see the links to the right to learn more about our experiences, and if you  haven't already done so, sign up today to be a donor! Give the gift of life.

Thank you all for your love and support. It is what gets us through the day.

Love to all, Mindy, Rich, Jesse, Tovah, & Sarah
