I wanted to make a comment about last night's meeting for the month of April. I had a great time and I always walk away with at least one piece of information. Last night I liked the comment that was made: WHERE DID IT LIVE IN NATURE". I think that will help me as a novice.
At the raffle table there were a lot of beautiful orchids but there was a 'rock' that caught me eye. You see I have been collecting rocks since a young girl. Like orchids each rock is different and has a personality all it's own. I wanted that rock as I was not able to ship my rock collection from New England due to cost. I only allow myself $5- to spend for the raffle as I am not very lucky.
When my number was called the 'rock' was still on the table. Guess what? I did not take an orchid but I did grab my 'first Florida rock'!!!! I cannot tell you how thrilled I was. This is a beautiful rock and it will always remind me of TBOS for many years to come! And I will never have to worry about killing it! Thank you TBOS.

I went to the Florida State Fair on Sunday, 2-12-2012 and saw your beautiful display. I spoke to a very nice gentleman; he gave a business card and encouraged me to come to your next meeting. I am so excited about attending your meeting; I am a novice and have killed a few orchids ;-) This site is very easy to navigate. Thank you so much.

Hello all, I attended my first meeting this August 2010 and although it was long, I found it definitely worth the time I invested in it. I will be submitting my application for membership and look forward to the next meeting in September. I learned a lot at the August meeting and look forward to expanding my knowledge with membership in the club. I found the members to be diverse and friendly, which makes for a great club.

I have always loved orchids but have never purchased one for fear of the myth that they are too hard to grow. After speaking with a lovely lady at the Florida State Fair this past Saturday, I purchased my first one. I would love to attend one of your meetings to gather more information and become a true grower of this wonderful flower.
Are non-member allowed to sit in on your meetings?

I am hoping to join you at the December meeting. My name is Orchid and when I moved to Florida 17 years ago, friends and family often gifted me with orchids which I didn't do too well with. As I've already mentioned, my orchids are finally thriving and I couldn't be happier nor more curious about them.

After many years of little sucess growing orchids, suddenly they have taken off and I've got blooms galore....it may be due to me no longer overwatering and the fact that I now fertilize. As a complete novice I am totally enchanted with the blooms and I have one that perfumes the evening air. I am looking forward to attending a meeting soon and becoming a member. Have you any members whose name is Orchid?
