My name is Taryn Numi and I have lived here at 1710 San Martin Dr. (San Simeon Subdivision) for the past four years with my family. To give you some background information about myself, I have a 4 year old daughter named Peyton and a 1 year old son named Griffin. My husband Brent and I have been married for eight years. Brent is a production manager for a company called Emdeon. After graduating from Southwest Missouri State University with my Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education, I taught preschool for the Rockwood School District for three years. I left teaching after not being able to find a full-time position and decided to enter the world of retail! I was an Executive Assistant Manager for Walgreens for three years before I decided that I needed to find a more family friendly job. I found U.S. Cellular at that time with some help from a friend. I was the Sales Manager for the Fenton location since July of 2011. My children have taught me the true meaning of unconditional love and more about life, love, and happiness than I could ever teach them. At the same time, my husband and I had been unhappy with the quality of daycare facilities that were available to us. We felt that the daycares that we could afford only “babysat” our daughter and there were no real learning opportunities besides social play. There were no books, circle time, and age appropriate toys that were available. Although the staff was nice, most teachers did not have an education degree and didn’t know how to handle age-appropriate behavior. I don’t believe that attending 12 hours of children development workshops is sufficient to be teaching children. With the upcoming birth of my second child, I became more concerned about how to not only pay for daycare but also about the quality for care that he would receive. At that time, my husband and I decided that since I have a teaching degree and love teaching and children, it made sense for me to open my own at-home daycare. I know as a parent how I want my children to be treated, what I want them to learn, and I have the skills to execute a safe, developmentally appropriate learning facility. My home is smoke-free and pet-free. I keep my CPR/First Aid certification current, run a background check on myself yearly, and my daycare is tax deductable. I have also taken some extra steps to ensure that you are apart of your child's day by installing a camera that you are able to view from your smartphone or I-Phone. I truly believe in an "open door" policy and encourage my families to stop by at any time. To ensure that this is a possibility, I have provided a key-pad lock on the door. Each family will recieve a code to the door so that they will have access to the daycare at anytime (during hours of operation only). My parent handbook would be a great source for any intersted families to learn more about my daycare.
Welcome to Taryn's Tots! I hope you find my website useful and full of information that will help you decide on one of the most important decisions you will make in your child(ren)'s life! As a parent that struggled with whether or not to send my children to an at-home center or to a daycare faculity, I created my daycare to address infant through preschool needs. It can be scary, confusing and down right daughting to try to find the right daycare provider. I encourage any interested family to ask questions, write comments, or even give me suggestions. My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and educational experience all within the comforts of home. Thank you in advance for considering me for your child(ren's) provider. I can't wait to hear from you! If you are interested in an interview you may e-mail anytime. If you wish to call please do not call before 8:00am or after 8:00 pm. I currently have an open position for a part-time child on the days of Monday, Tuesday and Friday between the ages of 15 months to 18 months.
