The 2012 Taste of Carroll was held on Monday, May 7 from 5pm-9pm at Gerstell Academy in Finksburg. The event raised over $105,000 in proceeds for Carroll Hospice.
The evening began with a VIP reception, held in Robert E. Smith Hall. Special guest, Baltimore Colts halfback Tom Matte was present to mingle, take photos and serve as auctioneer for the evening. Wine was donated by The Constellation Wine Company, Beer donated by Jeff and Karen Moderacki and passed hors d'oeuvres were provided and served by Paradiso Restaurant of Westminster.
Later, the general tasting event took place in the Paterakis Athletic Center. Thirty local restaurants and wineries offered their specialties to nearly 500 guests. A silent auction featured items such as sports tickets and memorabilia, vacations and overnight stays, high-end jewelry and baskets of wine and goodies. The Eric Byrd Trio provided live musical entertainment.
