We have assisted 25 citizens of Tattnall County!
During the months of January, February and March, Pam Waters of the Glennville Sentinel, donated $1 for each new and renewed subscription, to Tattnall Co. C.A.R.E.S. A total of $450 was donated!!! Thank you so much, Pam!!!
Tattnall County C.A.R.E.S. held their first annual chili cook-off on Tuesday, February 3 at Tattnall County High School cafeteria. The cowboys and cowgirls did an outstanding job raising money for C.A.R.E.S. The chefs went above and beyond in preparing their chili, cornbread, deserts and decorating their tables! What a fun night and for such a worthwhile cause!!

1. What is Tattnall County C.A.R.E.S., Inc? C.A.R.E.S. is a charitable, non-profit, tax exemption corporation created in 2008 to raise funds to provide financial relief and support to cancer patients of Tattnall County and non-resident Team Members and their immediate family members, and to help fund research directed at finding a cure for cancer in our lifetime.
2. Who is Tattnall County C.A.R.E.S., Inc? C.A.R.E.S. is a totally volunteer membership organization composed of an executive committee, officers and directors, team captains, team members, corporate sponsors and all of those persons who are dedicated to the mission of helping to raise funds to provide local financial assistance and support to cancer victims and funding local, state and federal cancer research and education projects.
3. How will funds be used? The funds raised by C.A.R.E.S. shall be used to provide financial assistance and support to the people of Tattnall County, who have been diagnosed with cancer and to a limited extent to the people of surrounding counties, and for purposes of funding local, state and federal cancer research projects and for cancer awareness and education programs. There are no paid employees of C.A.R.E.S., and there shall be none.
4. Who Benefits? The financial assistance and support which C.A.R.E.S. will provide is directed toward the people of Tattnall County. However, any team captain or team member who is a non-resident of Tattnall County benefits equally with the residents of Tattnall, which includes the immediate family members of any team member irregardless of where he/she may reside. The funds used to support local, state and federal cancer research projects and cancer awareness and education projects benefit all people of all nations, for cancer is a worldwide disease.
5. How will the funds be raised? C.A.R.E.S. raises monies through corporate sponsorships, and various projects, raffles and events conducted by Team Captains and Team Members, with individual Teams being sponsored by our community businesses, churches, civic organizations and families, all dedicated in a united effort to raise funds and celebrate our success in our continuing effort to fight cancer at the C.A.R.E.S. Celebration on April 24, 2009, which was held at Warrior Stadium at Tattnall County High School.
6. How can I become involved in C.A.R.E.S.? Membership is open to everyone. Every Team needs more team members. If you want the opportunity to become a team player in the fight, you can join one of the existing teams or create your own. C.A.R.E.S. participated in the annual Wiregrass Festival, which was held in Reidsville, on Saturday & Sunday, September 25 & 26. We sold hamburgers, chips and drinks. We also had C.A.R.E.S. t-shirts and other C.A.R.E.S. items for sale. A very special thank you to, Mark, Tammy, Dylan and Charla Durrence for all of their help! Tammy coordinated the event, Mark cooked all of the hamburgers and Dylan & Charla did "whatever" their Daddy and Mama asked them to do!
