Teaching Kids To Fish. A California Nonprofit Public Benefit, Faith Based Organization.

This program can help kids to do something that is safe, fun and educational with their free time, other then hanging out in the streets where they could end up in some kind of trouble.  If kids don't have something fun and exciting to do with their free time away from school then could begin to experiment with drugs and alcohol. We realize that we can't stop this from happening completely, but with this program it is our prayer that it will, if we keep just one kid from going that way we have done our job. We believe that many kids will find this program as an escape from the drugs, alcohol and the streets.

Teaching Kids To Fish and The California Department of Fish and Game

Teaching Kids To Fish is now a Full Supporting Member and Educational Partners with The California Department of Fish and Game. We are authorized to receive and distribute California Fishing Passports and the California Finfish and Shellfish Identification Books for educational purposes and to become official Stamping Agent destination site right here in Ridgecrest Ca.

Teaching Kids To Fish is also authorized to print and hand out awards like the First Fish Award. There’s nothing quite as exciting as feeling the sensation of that first bite! To celebrate catching your first fish, Teaching Kids To Fish and the California Fishing Passport program would like to present you with your First Fish Award!

California is a state of remarkable natural resources and diverse outdoor recreational opportunities. With 1,100 miles of ocean coastline, 220,000 square miles of ocean waters, 4,172 lakes and reservoirs, 29,664 miles of streams and rivers, and 1,800 miles of bay and delta waters, California has more fishing opportunities than any other state in the country. As a student with Teaching Kids To Fish we will explore many of these resources.

Teaching Kids To Fish will help to highlight these many waters and to encourage people to more fully experience all of the fishing opportunities that the Golden State has to offer with us, the California Department of Fish and Game has designed the California Fishing Passport program. With this program, people will be challenged to fish their way around the state in search of 150 different fish and shellfish species. And like a traveler's passport book, for each successful catch, participants will receive special stamps in their books to mark their accomplishments from Teaching Kids To Fish and other stamping agents.

Teaching Kids To Fish and The California Fishing Passport program is one that will appeal to everyone. From our students to the first-time angler who wants to feel the sensation of that first bite, to those who enjoy spending quality time in the outdoors fishing with Teaching Kids To Fish or with friends and family, to those who wish to passionately pursue the wide variety of different and unique fishing opportunities that only California can offer...  Teaching Kids To Fish and the California Fishing Passport challenge has something for everyone!
