New Rides Posted for 2012
I posted some rides we're targeting. So far I've posted rides for April and May. We'll add more as the dates get closer and we review the best rides and get firm details.
Check out the calendar. And, if you haven't, check out www.bicycle-stuff.com for great info on the rides, including rider reviews.
The Goatneck
I think a few thing came into play to make a great day of ridining for me at Cleburne's Goatneck. I overslept for one thing; but I don't regret it. The extra time snoozing allowed me to feel alert at the Starting line. Next, my particular route, 27 miles, put most of the work in the beginning, going up hill. The last half of the route was almost all downhill. Also, the partly cloudy day was also a plus. The heat in the past couple of rides was so tiring. I guess that's why they call it "Heat Exhaustion" when one starts having problems with the extreme heat and sun.
Tour de Paris
Arnie, Chris, Matt & Kevin made it out to the Tour de Paris. It was very hot and pretty hilly. The people in Paris were so cool. They came out to cheer for the riders, and all of the support systems were great. Definitely a classy ride.
Peach Pedal - Weatherford
It was very hot and hilly at the Peach Pedal. It's always a pretty challenging ride. Lots of folks pulled off the road and sat in the shade as the ride progressed. Still, it's always a favorite ride for many, with scenic routes and great support.
Happy 4th!
Happy Independence Day. We didn't have a team ride this weekend, but I'm looking forward to the Peach Pedal next Saturday. It's always a great ride. Come on out and beat the heat!
The Country Classic Ride in Waxahachie, TX
We faced another really windy day on June 26th in Waxahachie. The route was really scenic. We saw some nice country and really enjoyed this ride. Matt Schmitt had a good nap after this one. Also, had another rider commenting how much he liked our jerseys and that he thought The Warren Center was a great organization. Would recommend this ride. Looking forward to the Peach Pedal in Weatherford for the next team outing.
Head for the Hills 2011
Christian Jennings and I did the 41 mile route in Cedar Hill. The wind was strong from the south, so it was challenging but still a great time.
Chris - thanks for humming a few bars of Iron Maiden once in a while to inspire us on the hills!

MS150 2011
Josh, Arnie, and Matt headed out for the MS150 ride on April 30th. This is a classic, two day tour that goes from Frisco to Ft Worth with an overnight stay in Denton and camping at the Texas Motor Speedway.
Day 1 was 86 miles, and the weather couldn't have been better. Alas, the conditions overnight and on Sunday conspired against us and day two was cancelled to ensure safety.
Oh well - it was a great 86 miles to get the season kicked off in style.
I know we all felt so relieved to have Jim and Melissa come out to cheer us on. Jim - the food and beer were really appreciated. Really.
Check out the pics and videos.

Tour Dallas
I got to start off the cycling season with the Tour Dallas ride on April 2nd. This is a great ride through the city and around White Rock Lake. I was able to wear the new team jersey. It was great.
