Judgment Day is on October 23rd! Previously Praying for a fair hearing on AUGUST, 27TH, 2009!!! This PRAYER was answered and now the Judge is supposed to rule on the 23rd of this month! Knowing that God's timing is PERFECT.
After construction began on the 20 acre future home of Camp El Har, a court injunction halted the development. There have been several court dates set for a hearing but each time the case is not heard for one reason or another, including the Judge just not showing up! Please pray for perseverance for Reuben Musiime and his staff at AMG Uganda and for a resolution and fair hearing on August 27th!
From Reuben - “…Now on Camp El-Har, I have been in the corridors of courts and I am now optimistic that the Lord is going to prevail over the matter. May be by the time I come to visit, I might have some encouraging news to share with you guys on the construction and development of the facility for the children next year. God is working out some thing for His glory!”
Your prayers are undergirding and encouraging our brother, our partner and our friend! This has been a long battle with much opportunity to be discouraged! Court date after court date, no hearing after no hearing; waiting and more waiting but no answers from a corrupt judicial system. Yet, more than $100K has been received for the building of Camp Mountain of God (); many children have received sponsorships to the orphanage. Our people are lining up to GO and to build; to GO and to love; to GO and to teach; to GO and to see; to GO and embrace children who have never taken a hug for granted; never taken food for granted; and many who do not take their next breath for granted!
"Uganda is Africa condensed, with the best of everything the continent has to offer packed into one small but stunning destination. Uganda is home to the highest mountain range in Africa, the Mountains of the Moon in the Rwenzori National Park. It is the source of the mighty Nile, and around Jinja offers the best white-water rafting in the world. It has the highest concentration of primates on earth, including the majestic mountain gorilla, one of the rarest animals on the planet. Head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a chance to get close to these great apes.
On top of all this, the scenery is so striking that it looks like an oil painting, the beautiful national parks see far fewer visitors than in neighbouring Kenya and Tanzania, and the capital, Kampala, is safer and friendlier than most in Africa. In 1907 pioneering tourist Winston Churchill called it the ‘Pearl of Africa’. He was right."
Uganda gained independence from Britain in 1962 and looked forward to a wonderful future. Then the continent was stricken with HIV/AIDS. And now there is a tragic situation in this nominal Christian nation. Life expectancy is only 43 years. And while Uganda has been very successful in decreasing new HIV/AIDS cases, malaria and HIV/AIDS have nonetheless turned countless children into orphans. They have seen their parents grow increasingly ill and unable to work or care for themselves, and die. The combination of this trauma and then experiencing the desperation of being in a child-headed home puts these children in a special category of circumstances that cries out for urgent intervention.
