ARTHUR'S TOUR OF CLEVELAND
Our next ride on 7th October has had it's route changed. The recent rainy weather has washed away much of the off-road sections planned for this ride, and part of the Cleveland Way is currently underwater. As we can't be sure this will be clear by next week, we have changed the route of the ride. It will now be all on the road, check the details in the Calendar.

Our remaining rides for September have been postponed into October to accommodate the "Cycling Sunday" events at the cycle circuit. Check the Calendar for details.
On the last 3 Sundays in September, British Cycling & Middlesbrough Council present 3 "Cycling Sundays", themed events to promote the circuit and the groups & clubs that use it. Come along and join in with various cycling activities, including 3 x challenging TVR rides, which you can sign up for on goskyride.com.

FEATURE RIDE - THE CINDER TRACK
Look out for this year's feature ride - The Cinder Track - on May 20th. This ride follows the old railway line from Whitby to Scarborough. It's an all-day ride and will feature several stops for points of interest and comfort breaks along the route. If you don't have any transport to get your bike to Whitby, we will be car-sharing on the day so have a chat with a ride leader when you're on an upcoming ride. Suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids only due to the terrain, we'll take a steady pace on this ride, which is around 40 miles all-in.

We now have a membership benefit scheme in place. This contributes towards paying for things such as the club's annual affiliation to British Cycling, hire of the cycle circuit for events, spare parts for bikes for leaders to take on rides, plus many more which will grow over time. We're also happy to hear other views on what the money could be used for. The fee is £5 annually with a £5 one-off sign-up fee. Our Membership Secretary Christine Walker will collect your fee and add you to the members' list, you'll then receive a membership card which you can use straight away to get a 10% discount at Peddlers Cycles in Redcar.
