RIDE TO SEATON CAREW - CANCELLED
Sorry folks but tomorrow's Ride to Seaton Carew is cancelled as I have come down with a cold and the weather outlook is very bad. The ride will be moved to a future date in due course.
FEATURE RIDE - THE CINDER TRACK
Look out for this year's feature ride - The Cinder Track - on May 20th. This ride follows the old railway line from Whitby to Scarborough. It's an all-day ride and will feature several stops for points of interest and comfort breaks along the route. If you don't have any transport to get your bike to Whitby, we will be car-sharing on the day so have a chat with a ride leader when you're on an upcoming ride. Suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids only due to the terrain, we'll take a steady pace on this ride, which is around 40 miles all-in.
MAY RIDES ARE UP AND CHANGE TO APRIL 15th RIDE
Our planned rides for May are now available to view in the Calendar. We've also made a change to the ride originally scheduled for April 15th (Town Hall to Preston Park), which has been moved to May 6th. The Ride to Redcar will now take place on April 15th instead.
APRIL RIDES ARE GO!
Our April rides are off to a great start following the Ride to Saltholme today, attended by 27 riders - our highest turnout ever! Great weather and a great ride, pictures from the ride are now on the Pictures page. Keep checking back as later this week, we'll be revealing our rides planned for May!
MEMBERSHIP BENEFIT SCHEME
We now have a membership benefit scheme in place. This contributes towards paying for things such as the club's annual affiliation to British Cycling, hire of the cycle circuit for events, spare parts for bikes for leaders to take on rides, plus many more which will grow over time. We're also happy to hear other views on what the money could be used for. The fee is £5 annually with a £5 one-off sign-up fee. Our Membership Secretary Christine Walker will collect your fee and add you to the members' list, you'll then receive a membership card which you can use straight away to get a 10% discount at Peddlers Cycles in Redcar.
