Thanks to everyone who showed up and joined in the FUN yesterday !!
I'll put Chase's, Steve Strickland's (THANKS guys!!) & my pics up on the website tonight after my golf tourney.
I wanted to take this opportunity to refresh the "pre-ride" checklist and "rules of the launch ramp"

Pre-ride checklist:

Put on wetsuit, booties, gloves, sunglasses/goggles & vest IN THE PARKING LOT.
Put in all drain-plugs,start ski's (to make sure they start BEFORE you get on the launch ramp) and make sure ALL fuel tanks are COMPLETELY full on EVERY Ride, you NEVER know what is going to happen out there.
Then, and only then, proceed to the launch ramp.

On the launch ramp:

Back trailer into the water, remove ski(s) and ride to dock.
Drive car/truck & trailer back to parking lot.
This entire launch ramp procedure should take NO MORE than 5 minutes.
The boaters already hate us, let's don't give them anymore reasons by being on the ramp for 15-20 minutes doing stuff than should have been done in the parking lot.

Also, for those of you who heard that jerk in the boat at the ramp try to tell me the US Coast Guard rules for navigation lights are for 1 hour BEFORE sunset, he was wrong, as I tried to explain to the idiot. This is from the USCG website......

Recreational vessels are required to display navigation lights between sunset and sunrise and other periods of reduced visibility (fog, rain, haze, etc.). The U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Rules, International-Inland, specifies lighting requirements for every description of water craft. The information provided is for power-driven and sailing vessels less than 65.5 feet/20 meters in length.

EVERYBODY thinks jetskier's are idiots and need to be "educated".
That is the man reason I started this Club, to educate PWC'ers NOT to be the brunt of boaters jokes and ridicule at the ramp and on the water.
After 12 years of being a city lifeguard and 30 years of jetskiing in San Diego waters, I *think* I know the rules of the water by now O:-)

The reason I loan the ski out is to let first-timers experience my favorite past-time.
Repeat loaners are just trying to save $$$$ and let me do the maintenance for them :-P

SDPWC member Chase V. is organizing a New Years Meet in the Middle Ride
with some of the SoCal Club members.
Sounds like he is leaving from Shelter Island (45 miles) or Mission Bay
(35miles) and back, stopping to eat at Joe's Crab Shack in Oceanside
Harbor.

I have 2 choices....get another wife or change the launch time to1:30 PM
  ;-)
I kinda like the wife I have now, so I'm changing the launch time.
Smooth water is not an issue as we are jumping waves anyways.
We can eat at Joe's @ 3:30 PM then head back to the Shelter Island ramp.
I plan on getting LOTS of pictures for a new "Wave Jumping" page I am
building on the website.
Dana ( I'm a Mom! ) Jansen, would you please use my camera so I can be
in some pics for a change ??  ;-)

Let's go get some Air off of Point Loma !!
After jumping and dolphin searching down the coast, we can go to Joe's
Crab Shack or somewhere else to eat.
You don't have to jump waves, we need photogs to get some pics !!

Sorry about the late notice.
Between Holiday parties, taking relatives to the airport and trying to
find a job, this is the only time I could get away.

Due to a brand new Kawasaki SX-R in my family that is not getting
ridden, I have changed our destination Sunday morning to Point Loma for
wave-jumping (hopefully), then a southern Ride down the Strand on the
ocean side as close to Mexico as we dare, returning to SD Bay and lunch
at Joe's Crab Shack. LOTS of dolphin down there last time we went.

Let's Ride past La Jolla up to Black's Beach or so.
We all had plenty of gas left Sunday, just leave with a full tank.
It was SO fun last week I want to do it again !!
This time we will go further off-shore and look for whales, not just
dolphins.
Brunch/lunch at Joe's when we get back into the Bay.
My Yamaha is available to anyone who hasn't ridden it yet !!
Forecast for Sunday is 68 degree air temp, 66 degree water temp and
sunny skies.
Leaving Shelter Island at 8AM sharp, come join us !!
