Donna's Uncle Harold came to live with us here in Spa Buena Vista, BCS, Mexico: one hour north from the San Jose del Cabo airport. The left side of this picture is an apartment that we are remodeling for Harold.

Marcia's Bath
Marcia wants a bathtub so while we're at it, we'll spruce up her bathroom too. This bath was built in the early 80's and was a combo bath/utility/laundry.

The ceiling/roof was originally corrugated panels covered with concrete. Practical and durable but unattractive inside. We're installing a new ceiling here with foam panels that when finished will look nice and add insulation against the heat in the summer.

The inside structure is done; now for tile. Donna and I laid the floor. The room has only 2 square corners so it was a challenge to decide what to line up the tile with. In the end it made the most sense to have it square with the entry.

Bob,

I always use your note as a milestone to send a reply! Only real news form the Phillips front is that I had my right knee replaced this month. I’m back to work pretty much full time and walking with a cane this week until the leg gets its strength back. Everything is going very well so far. I used some of the downtime to work on the guitar and piano. Some has been good, and then again, some not so good but I’m writing it off to some attention deficit issues from the drugs.

Have no idea exactly when we will be down next but it could be as soon as March April timeframe. We’ll keep in touch.

Thanks for forwarding me the information regarding your Shutterfly site. Pretty cool. Bev and I especially liked the pictures of . We hear so much about the place but never have been there! Thanks for sharing.

We are going to be down most of the month of November (Bev more “most of November” than me of course) but I am hopeful to get at least three weeks plus including Thanksgiving.

I have not been playing the guitar much but have been playing a lot of piano. I won’t say keyboard as when I get in front of one of them I seem to freeze. Weight the keys and give me 88 of them and I seem to fake my way through alright. I’m looking forward to listening to the OLD GUYS one of these days. Looks like you were having a good time.

Again, thanks for including us. Always good to hear from you and hope to see you guys in November if you are around.

The "Spa" is a little community that grew up around the Hotel Buena Vista which is located a few kilometers south of Los Barriles and just south of Rancho Buena Vista. Our claim to fame is that our "city" water is from underground hot springs.
