Recipe book created from the original recipes of Baums Specialty Foods Restaurant in Merrillville, Indiana.

Pictures from the Florida Keys, Pennsylvania, Parker's second birthday, our marriage, and the One Iowa Photo Shoot.

It is so hard to believe he is already a year old!  This book has great pictures of his adoption day, Christmas, the Florida Keys, and Vermont.  It also includes his one year birthday celebration!

So much has happened in these months!  Starting to get his own little personality and hamming it up for the camera.  Included is our first camping experience and our month spent in Pennsylvania.

Parker just turned three on May 4th, 2010.  So hard to believe.  We found out on Christmas Day that I was pregnant.  What a great gift :)  I am at 23 weeks and feeling pretty well- no more nausea and I have a little more energy.  We are so happy that Spring has finally arrived and are enjoying the flowers, gardens, and weather.  We have included some photos from recent vacations- Paula and I went to Arizona to visit our dear friend Mimi in January, we made a trip to DePauw for alumni weekend and had a great time in Feb, Paula and Parker went to Arizona with her brother and his family in March, the family went to the Florida Keys with Jen and Rodney England in April.  We are looking forward to heading back to Florida the end of the month with Jan, Julie, and Jack.  Parker's new brother or sister will be here sometime in early September.  We are all so excited to meet this new member of our family!     

Wow, I can hardly believe the summer is over...did it even reach 90 degrees?  Although the weather was a little cool, and many of our tomatoes are still green, we managed to have quite a fun time.  Paula and I went to Provincetown, MA with 5 of our great friends and Parker stayed home with his grandparents.  We took trips home to Culver, IN and to Crystal Lake, IL.  We did some boating and lots of playing on the farm with Taproot.  Paula and I celebrated our legal wedding on April 30th with a wonderful reception on August 22nd.  The weather was perfect, the food was good, and the support was unforgettable.  Life is good.  I posted quite a few new albums.  Hope you enjoy and hope all is well. 

Hey everyone!  Paula and I were officially married on April 30th at the Johnson County Courthouse in Iowa City.  It was an awesome day.  My parents were able to be there as well as our great friend Jan Jensen.  Our witnesses were Paula's sister Laura and our dear friend Mimi Barnard.  It was without much of the fanfare of the first ceremony, but it was legal and that makes it pretty special :)  The kids from Taproot Nature Experience (where Paula works) came to see us on our way out of the courthouse.  It was pretty darn cute.  Our photos are posted on-line through our photographers site at:

I guess I shouldn't complain since we did just return from the Florida Keys a week ago, but it was 30 degrees out today, the last day of February.  I love Spring time and can't wait for it to be here.  There are robins in our front yard, so it must be on the way soon. 

 

In December we went to the Keys for Christmas.  It was the first time I had not been with my family for the holiday, which was of course sad, but we did have a wonderful time.  Scott and his family and Laura and her family all came.  My Grandma B also took the Ferry from Fort Myers to Key West and stayed for 3 night, which was also lovely.  January seemed to go by quickly...and it was cold.  I think it wasn't until sometime in February that we finally were able to chop the remaining ice from our driveway and sidewalks.  I just finished a month of Pediatric Acute Care clinic and made it almost the entire month without getting sick...until I got Strep throat.  With the exception of that, it was a great month.  I spent a lot of time with Paula and Parker and as I mentioned, we had a wonderful time in the Keys.  My brother Josh and his girlfriend Natalie came down there with us.  We had decent fishing and went down to Key West for a day which was really awesome.

I am currently doing a month long rotation at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, IL for obstetrics.  I am enjoying it and getting a lot of experience delivering babies, assisting with C-sections, and doing circumcisions.  All fun stuff :)  I am here 4 days a week so that is hard being away from Paula and Parker, but it sure if nice to have my entire weekends off! 

 

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Paula and my mom made a great dinner with a huge 20 pound turkey and all the fixings.  There is so much to be thankful for.  We are looking forward to going to the Florida Keys for a week over Christmas.  We will be there with Paula's sister and her family as well as her brother and his family.  It will be great.  Hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

I am currently on my two weeks of "Family Medicine Inpatient Service Night Float."  I have been learning a lot during my red eye shifts in the hospital and have had a nice time.  I am looking forward to rejoining the world of the day shifters soon though.  Although it has been nice to be home by 8 AM in time to wake Parker up in the morning.  He usually wakes up pretty happy and instead of crying now just yells, "Maaaa maaaa!"  So cute.  He is saying quite a few words and signing even more.  It is so fun just to sit back and watch him play...you can see the little wheels turning :) 

 

Of course I have been obsessed with the upcoming election.  If you are not registered please do so!  Regardless of your candidate, get out there and vote.  If you want to talk about why I think Barack is the best choice for this country, I would LOVE to have that discussion with you!  Here is a link to Barack's site to find out how to register and/or vote by absentee if you would like.

We love DVR!  We record the Olympic Games all day long and then fast forward through 8 hours of competition every night!  We pretty much only slow down to watch the Final swim races and the beach volleyball.  We have decided that fencing is definitely not our favorite and are frankly appalled that it will continue to be an Olympic sport and softball will not.  Crazy!

 

Parker is doing well.  He is not only walking, but nearly running.  He is doing all sorts of sign language to communicate with us and trying to learn a few words too.  He loves Elmo, dogs, squirrels, and chipmunks.  His favorite game is "catch" where he runs around and makes us chase him.  When we finally catch him he promptly says and signs one of his few words, "more!"
