This Christmas eve, join NORAD to track Santa's flight from your phone. On December 24th, open Google Maps for mobile and do a search for "Santa" to see his flight pattern.

Hi Barb! It's been FOREVER since I've visited any sites. I just totally quit visiting and for a long time didn't do anything new with mine. I've been really busy, then having some health problems so I've been out of action. I'm finally starting to try to get involved again.....at least today !
I hope you're doing well. I know that you have had some health problems too. Have you been back to WV to visit your aunt and Little Guy recently? I bet those WV mountains have been covered in snow, and Little Guy probably went into hibernation (LOL).
Were your Holidays nice? It's such a busy, hectic time....I love the holidays but I'm also glad when it's behind me. I do so love your sites, so I'm going to spend some time browsing around.
I've missed you !
1/23/2011 11:32:20 PM - 002059400225
WOW - you have really made a lot changes; love them all. The cats & moths are just soooo typical, who needs cats toys when there is a moth, a fly or a milk bottle cap that needs whacking across the floor. Love watching cats watching. Wanted to also echo your thoughts on Petco and them letting groups use cages in their stores to adopt out cats. A local group that we have been involved with for years has used them and has had great luck finding new homes for many. Lots of great info and pictures - thanks.
1/11/2011 1:39:26 AM - 002088910291
Barb, This was a great page, and it had a lot of good information on it too! The tracking Santa on google was great! A lot of kids would have had a great time with that! You probably won't see this for a while since you haven't been able to get around to your computer lately! I will try to e-mail you again tonight, and I hope you don't have too many unread e-mails stacked up! Will talk to you later my friend! Deb xoxox
12/23/2010 4:02:53 AM - 002088910291
Barb, I can hardly believe it but you have the same card on your site, that my cousin sent to me this year! It is the snowman, just above the christmas tree from here, where the snowman has a basket of apples, and it is all glittery! I actually took a pic of it and a macro shot of the snowman with the glitter lighting up on the tree! Now that is a wild coincidence or what!!!! You had yours on your site, before I got mine, and I could hardly believe it! I thought where have I seen that card before, and it was here! I will send you my copy of the pics I took of it in macro! It kind of looks like mini bokeh! Will talk tomorrow! Deb xoxox
12/17/2010 4:39:52 AM - 002088910291
Barb, I keep trying to put this comment on here and keep getting knocked off! I LOVE the photo of Lisa on Santa's lap!! She looks so pretty! This page is full of Christmas cheer! I love all the animals in their little holiday outfits! I really enjoyed our visit the other day on the phone! I will call you again soon to see how your moving is going! Catch you later my friend!!!! Deb xoxox
11/27/2010 3:27:08 PM - 002059400225
Thanks for the comments you added to my site. I have no doubt it must be heart wrenching for you to be leaving a good part of your cat work, passion, tending to, and looking after behind. The time and efforts you invested have been most appreciated by many and I have no doubt the lifes you have saved and made better have made are numerous. Whatever happens, keep the memories, smile once in a while and what the heck - shed a few tears. We are all alive as long as we keep feeling. I applaud your commitment, the work you have done. THANKS
11/22/2010 8:04:33 PM - 002029331419
Hi Barb! I think I read somewhere that you posted that there were not the extra kitty's this year that you've had in others past! I'm so glad!! No kitty's mean that all of your work and passion is making a difference in your community!! Good Job! Barbara Jean!! :0)
11/21/2010 10:00:37 PM - 002059400225
Found a old video of a kitten that was adopted by a crow - plays, feeds, and guards. It is on Utube if you use that { just type in cat and crow}, or if I have an email, I could also send you a link. I will put it on my animal site now if you care to see it. Every kitten cared for is another victory - thanks for your work.
11/21/2010 9:59:34 PM - 000076738705
that kitty and the parakeet are great. That parakeet is lucky its only a kitten! lol
11/15/2010 4:47:51 PM - 002088910291
I love the pictures of the kitty with the parakeet that you put on your site! I still love the one with the girls playing with the skunks too!
11/15/2010 2:35:44 AM - 001038348079
Hey there...I came here to tell you something then I forgot. hahaha...Just remembered..Loved your book so well of the gingerbread house I went out and bought one for Alyssa and Mason...wellll....we were not as successful as you. Ours fell down and we just ate it. I almost cried...We laughed though....hahahahahahaha Thought you like that story.
11/8/2010 3:40:51 AM - 001036406489
Barbara, these photos of your kitty with the birdie are unbelievable. Wow.
10/18/2010 12:30:58 AM - 000076738705
Hi Barb. Little is gone now; all I can say is, when I am ready to open my heart up again, I will be proud to welcome a feral because of you.
10/16/2010 7:03:01 AM - 002059400225
You mentioned that you believe that getting off of artifical sweetner has helped your health; I have not doubt this is true. Although I am a long way from a fanatic about this I really believe we as a country consumes a whole lot of junk, poison, toxins. Left some comment on one of other sites but wanted to stop by here also - keep up the battle.
10/5/2010 6:22:07 PM - 002059624475
Thanks Barbara. I have to say it was one of the funnest times I've had (other than with family) in years!! Everyone laughed, ate, snapped pictures and we all talked a lot about our weekend together. Thank you for your well wishes.
9/30/2010 7:38:00 PM - 002086548916
Hi Barbara, thanks for coming by my site! I am glad you enjoyed my cruise pictures. I hope you are doing well. Have a great weekend!
9/27/2010 2:00:13 AM - 002052858931
Hi Barbara,
Thank you so much for your kind comments about Baxter's book. I'm so glad you enjoyed meeting my special boy. I'd be happy to offer advice, tips or whatever I can when you start working on your book. Your thoughtfulness is much appreciated.
Mark
9/26/2010 9:38:24 PM - 002065887734
Hi, Lisa. This is a Success Story page for now!!! I was trying to get the wild, feral cats ALL fixed. Our apartment managers were going to have them all 'disposed of' ...nice way to say they were going to be put to sleep... when I moved in because the cats were multiplying so fast. I got that stopped and the owners haven't said a word this past year about rounding up the cats and getting rid of them!!! THAT IS SUCCESS!!!
9/26/2010 6:19:06 PM - 000076738705
what kind of site is this one? :)
9/20/2010 2:03:52 PM - 002059400225
Like the new pumpkin color really, jumps out - also glad to see you are having great success with the birth control issue. Nicely written.
Always sorry to hear when anyone is hurting as I'm very luckly to mostly have great health. Did have an impacted root canel and thought I was near death. Those times really bring home to me how great it is to feel good. Sounds as if you are the mend.
As to problems you are having with video on your site; keeping in mind I seldom know of what I speak - I have a few suggestions. You need a fairly fast internet connection speed - dail up seldom cuts it. You also need Adobe Flash to view must videos - I believe version 10 is the last one out. Lastly a duel core computer is best but not really needed. If you continue to have problems and wish to pursue this let me know and we can try to get it working.
Last ramble. Just read a book about "Morris" a cat that lives in a nursing home and seems to foretell the death of the patients. True book where the families and staff as often as not seem to appreciate as they can than say their farwells. Thanks for stopping by my sites and leaving comments - be talking at you.
9/12/2010 8:58:15 PM - 000076738705
Hi Barb, havnt been around myself, not feeling great. How are things? Thinking what else can be done for your cats; if you adopt one and have picture of him that you can send me, I'll mail you a quick "thank you" drawing/card and you can foward it to whom ever saved the life! Take care :)
8/25/2010 4:46:40 PM - 002059460698
Hi Barb! I'm back!!! I was in a MAJOR slump for awhile, but I'm back to viewing all the sites...there are so many beautiful pictures to look out. I love your pictures of the cats and kittens and espeically enjoyed the one at the bottom of this page!! Isn't that adorable.
I wish people would take better care of their animals too. if they really loved them they would have them spayed or neutered and not increase of the population by even 1 more little at or dog. There are so many just waiting to be adopted! Thanks for taking care of so many and putting THE WORD out about them.
8/24/2010 1:06:10 AM - 002059400225
Me again. Another video - Jimmy Stewart on the Johnny Carson show read a poem "A dog Named Beau. Video on both of my sites. 5 Stars
8/22/2010 3:39:09 PM - 002059400225
Added a video of Simon's Cat to my pet share site you may want to view. They also have a web site you may want to look at. Have not heard much out of anyone of late - guessing that most are just busy with thier summer things and life. Wishing you well.
7/26/2010 2:08:11 PM - 002059400225
Thanks - got the photo display info I asked for. Bet your right, you sent and I over looked. Not always the best with multi- tasking. Brother Robert does not have a site at this time.
Your letter sounds as if you are at least a little discouraged and while I would not presume to give you advice I will repeat what is repeated in our house on a regular bases. "Remember we are doing this for the animals and we are never really sure who's life we touch but we know for every animal we did help, we feel good, and at least one more animal has a better chance for a healthier life. As to how to get more to care - that is tough. All I know what works for me is to do what I have a passion about - pretty hard to get others to do anything if they just don't care. But once in a while someone comes along that understands.
Reading the figures you have on your site I would say you have mattered a lot in the unwanted ones that were not born and the ones your are tending to today. For saying I'm not going to give any advice, thinking maybe I got sorta close. Do what you love because love it.
I clicked on Marianne"s site {comment below}, looks as if she too cares. If there are three of us out there I'm betting there are more.
7/25/2010 5:47:20 PM - 002063570780
Barbara any hints about getting more visits to my site as well as yours I am working or was on another site and on Facebook trying to get the word out. did you see the slide show on the emails Shutterfly sent out thought they were on the site they are great.
7/24/2010 11:34:32 PM - 002059400225
Wanted to says thanks for stopping by and the comments. I'm still amazed at what can be found on the net- Utube is a case in point. I read there is over 25 hours of video downloaded each and every hour. Granted a lot is garbage, but the odds are there is going to be something out there to amaze.
As to a couple of pictures on my site you commented on that showed they were downloaded by a Robert L - that would be a brother. He well may have done it although a couple of albums get added to by family members. There were 10 kids and it's pretty hard to keep a eye on everybody.
Another book we just checked out from the library is "Your Cat" by Elizabeth H Hodgkins,DVM. Just a quick look shows it is mostly on food and the different stages of life. The author and book are highly touted.
As a update to my Heathly Pets site I have added my rantings on the News page in regard to heat stress. Would like your honest opiniion when you get the time.
One last question - how do get your slides to play so large as in the cat & bird album?
7/23/2010 10:17:22 AM - 002059400225
I have a little request for you and all that care - and many should. I have addeed a couple of videos on my Healthy Pets share site, News page that I am asking you to view. It is in regard to pets and summer heat, an issue that many shrug off if they even care that much. Please tell me what you think & keep up the battle. Thank you
7/22/2010 3:01:46 AM - 001038348079
Left you a note on your other site....Hey, if you get time leave Mark a note. He lost his best friend Sat. Baxter would be 13 next month. I feel so horrible for him. He is really going through a rough time...
7/16/2010 7:59:07 PM - 002059400225
As to your tale of the Wall Mart store brand dog food - you are correct it is total garbage. What is even worse it is the number one sellling food in the US with Purnia Dog Chow in second place - not becaue it has any quality ingredients but because people buy cheap and they buy where it is handy. The last time I looked at it the front of the bag was touting the fact that it had real blood meal in it. That's as close to something they could come to finding something to brag about. If most people looked at the back label they would be even more confused as to what they were buying.
7/16/2010 2:17:26 AM - 002059400225
Great - loved that you found things of interest on my site and took the time to comment. If you like I'll be glad to send you a link to my "Healthy Pets" site. The treatment of both our domesticated and feed animals is a disgrace. Thanks bunches for all you do. Gandhi once said that we as a country will be judged by the way we treat our animals - if that is so I'm not feeling so well.
7/15/2010 11:12:57 PM - 002059400225
Just asked to join your ranks but wanted to repeat once more the work you do is appreciated and needed. As you, we too believe spay and neuter is essential but I also try to stress the junk that most commercial foods are. Need to get busy with another page on poisons or toxins. All feedback is most welcome. Thanks
7/15/2010 8:52:21 PM - 002086548916
Hey Barbara, I just wanted to stop and say thank you so much for coming to my site! Your comments were so sweet and I am glad that you are enjoying watching the wedding plans coming along. I kept looking for the perfect spot to the picture of us from the waist down...and it turned out so good! It really is one of my favorite pictures!!!
I hope you are doing well, I read on my mom's site that you were getting settled back in...it must feel good to be back home.
Take care and I wish you a wonderful weekend! Kay

Hi Barbara,
Great site! The kittens are so adorable!!!!!! I have a friend who does this on a regular basis. Her and her father are part of an animal rescue on call team for their county! I try to do my part!!!!! Thanks for the awareness!

I love your site
6/16/2010 4:24:26 AM - 002086360191
Barbara: Thanks for visiting our page on our cross country bike ride. I appreciate your comments. Looks like you are really into cats and bunnies. We have a connection there. We have a 20 year old cat who is spending the summer with my mother in law while we ride across the country. They seem to be getting along so that is a relief.
Hope all the cats find homes that will keep them indoors and not out eating the birds and other wildlife.
Clyde

Hi Barbara Jean,
WOW! Your header photo is so beautiful. I can tell that you made a big change on your site. Let me look around first!
6/2/2010 4:10:25 PM - 002086548916
Hi Barbara Jean! Thank you so much for coming by site and browsing through these. Your comments are so sweet, I appreciate all the encourgement. I am glad you liked my E-pics as well. My mom did a fantastic job with them!
Well, take care, and thanks again for stopping by!
6/2/2010 3:23:04 AM - 002065887734
Well, I have left the Bunnies page on way past it's time. I am addicted to the Easter Egg Game!!! Anita, you are right. It can be addicting! Bet I could beat your grandsons :)
Guess I might just put it on some page where it doesn't really fit in so I can keep playing it. Don't be surprised!!! BJ
5/30/2010 1:43:22 PM - 002059624475
Barbara, the green background really makes your page stand out! Good choice :) My goodness to you have the cats!! We haven't had one in many years but, the last one we had was a character. He was white/gold and his name was Cinnamon. We live in the rural area and one day, he just didn't make it home :( Dogs do better where we live. I hope you have a good 3 day weekend. I have 4 young men in the military right now that I keep in touch with - God Bless each one!!
5/6/2010 7:26:49 PM - 002059460698

While you were away, I got the urge to re-visit your site to see your clowder. It's also interesting to see the random tidbits I can pick up visiting your site! Take care!
4/20/2010 5:17:24 PM - 002088910291
HI BARB, Robyn is so cute, no wonder she is being adopted out, how wonderful! And it looks as though she will have a loving home! I will catch you later tonight! Deb
4/15/2010 2:57:01 AM - 001076975951
Barb, Love your header with all the cats. Really nice. Hope all is well. Thanks for always coming by to say Hi.
4/14/2010 11:42:47 PM - 002063570780
Me too found your notes and I've been working on my sites with all kinds of things. She looks familiar and the kitten sure is sweet.
4/13/2010 1:07:51 PM - 002063570780
Stopped this morning to see the news, just out of the hospital myself and have a lot of catching up to do. Wanted to share some stories of our cats I miss them at times so much. If I'd had a computer then maybe we would have been able to find homes for them the way you do. We'd never had more than one of two at times and not at times like the ones we had and they were teaching me a lot about cats that I didn't know. Quite a group .
4/11/2010 1:13:30 PM - 002059624475
Hi Barbara! Sorry I haven't stopped by in awhile, it's been hectic since we've got back from our San Diego trip. It was so much fun meeting Lisa & Jamie. It's like we've known each other for such a long time, we laughed and joked day & night. You have some beautiful cats. Where we live, they don't last too long. We have coyotes and snakes in the field behind us. We live ina rural area. When my boys were small, we did have one cat that looked a lot like Tex. We named him Cinnamon. He was a very cool cat - pardon the pun :) Have a great week and keep on taking pictures!!
4/4/2010 6:05:13 PM - 002088910291
Hi BARBARA, I am stopping in to take another look at all those cute kittens, and pretty cats you have on this site! I wanted to say you do a wonderful service for these cats, You must have a heart of gold, to do all this! I know it must be a lot of work, but rewarding at the same time!! Deb
3/28/2010 5:01:57 PM - 002052858931
Hi Barbara... great photos, hard to decide which to comment on. Tex is so sweet, what a trooper! Thanks for sharing.
3/28/2010 2:41:29 PM - 002069646657
Good morning John>. Stopped by to see what's new and must say I love the rabbit / bunny photos. They all seem to have their own personality. Very nicely done.
3/20/2010 2:13:32 PM - 002081530895
Barb, Tex does not appear to be POOR,Looks like it takes the entire lot to catch that moth and I think feral animals can be excellent pets. I think Tex has it made in the shade tail or no tail.
3/20/2010 2:03:01 PM - 002081530895
HI!!!!!! Good job,eh.
3/5/2010 2:51:37 PM - 001076975951
Good morning Barbara J, Thanks for stopping by and keeping me up to date on your furry friends and especially Lady. Glad to hear the good news. With people like you I'm sure you do good in helping those you can't help themselves. Lady is one lucky cat to have you. Hope you get to rest and enjoy the weekend with your daughter and grandson. I'm going to make a visit to you other site. Enjoy your time with your family and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
3/4/2010 6:38:00 PM - 002029331419
Hi Barbara Jean!! I had to come and see what new whiskers you have added! :0) So Glad about Patches....sorry about Tex!
I hope spring is thinking of coming your way soon! You have had a lot of winter!
We had to remove some trees that had been dying out....and we planted 4 new ones! It's going to be kinda warm for the next few summers until the trees reallly take off....but when they start really growing it will really be nice in our yard again!
Hope you have a wonderful day!!
3/3/2010 4:11:19 PM - 000039334931
Patches is so cute!!!!
3/3/2010 3:01:53 PM - 001076975951
Good morning Barb Jean...Thanks for visiting my travel site and for sharing the good news about the grant. This is wonderful that the little felines will be getting fixed free of charge and no out of pocket for you. It can really dry you out it is so expensive. And in the long run it will help control the pet population. So many animals are put to sleep because of neglect, owners who no longer can care for them, etc. Very sad. Thanks for sharing this wonderful news with me. I'm hoping that all goes well. Have a great day.
3/2/2010 6:20:25 AM - 002066991916
Barbara- I just want to say Thank you for the compliment of our photo. We had a great time in Baltimore in MD even we stock there for three days because of the snow storm. When you get a chance I would like you to visit my site. And you will see all the photos that I took from Va and Md. It looks that you are a cats lover. How many cats do you have? Nice Shot!
3/1/2010 7:41:40 PM - 002088910291
Barbara Jean, Stopping in to say Hi!! Been busy this weekend, some yard work, and dinner at a friends on sunday. Took a few pics too! But it has been a little cloudy here, but not too bad on sunday, actually it was sunny then! Write me, so I'll know how you are!!!!!
2/24/2010 7:05:27 PM - 002088910291
By the way, how is Tex doing with his tail, and pneumonia? Hope he is up, and racing around, or maybe just relaxing!!! It sounds like he is doing well!
2/24/2010 4:11:05 AM - 003010539038
Hi Barbara Jean just stopping in to see your little lovelies!
2/23/2010 12:55:22 AM - 002088910291
Barbara Jean, wanted to stop by and say HI!!! Hope all is well today! It is sunny here today, so I took advantage of it and, and snapped some pics at the park, and worked on my share site, in Family, my grandson! He got a new shitzu Puppy from his other grandma! So now he has his own little dog and friend! He already has 2 cats, which were from the pound! They were already older, about 2 or 3 years old! But, boys need their dogs!!
2/20/2010 4:56:50 AM - 002088910291
I sure hope that Tex is still doing well, and completely recovers, I know how much you love him!!!
2/18/2010 5:31:00 AM - 001059933021
I like visiting your site, really I do! It's more than about cat pictures. Good reading material, with no annoying pet peeves (no pun intended), is what I also like about this pet project of yours!
Have a nice day and thank you for stopping by my site!
2/17/2010 6:51:32 PM - 002088910291
I am so glad to hear that Tex is recovering from his pneumonia!! It is hard when an animal we love is sick, and we don't know if they will make it! With all Tex has been thru, you can tell he is a fighter, and in his photos, he looks very much loved and spoiled, as all our pets should be!!!! I hope you are feeling as well as can be expected! I can tell you are a fighter too!! It is wonderful that you are taking such an interest, and care of all those little kittys, who just want a home and love! Deb
2/16/2010 4:17:02 PM - 001076975951
Barbara Jean, You have another great site here for the love of your animals. Thanks for sharing. Way too cute. Love the memory of Tex's tail photos...just beautiful.
2/16/2010 1:04:15 PM - 003019440973
amazing work you are doing with the kitties. Bravo!!!!
2/14/2010 8:47:30 PM - 002088910291
Barbara Jean, I hope you have a very nice and relaxing Valentines day!!!!!! Deb
2/14/2010 7:04:27 PM - 001038348079
Look at all those kitty's. My little girl would go nuts....(I don't know if I told you but we have 4 cats. (all fixed now) and of course two dogs. Anyway, I hope you have a super Valentines day!
2/13/2010 7:38:53 PM - 002088910291
I sure hope Tex pulls thru, but it sounds like he is a fighter, and will make it! All the cats are really beautiful!!! I can see how you fall in love with them!

Thanks, Barbara Jean for the pet photos!! I absolutely love the one with the kittens in the box! It is sad though that many don't have a home, except for the ones you save! You are one very kind lady!!! Deb

Hi Barbara, I'm glad you like my bird photos. Believe it or not, all of the photos were taken on walks or bicycle rides. I always carry a camera and I keep my eyes open. Also, there is definitely a lot of luck involved as far as being in the right place at the right time. However, I can't always react fast enough. For instance, today I witnessed a male Anna's hummingbird chase a house finch away from his (the hummingbird) territory even though the finch is probably 5 times the hummingbird's size. It all happened so fast that I was unable to get any pictures. It was still neat to see. While I think your cat pictures are great, I'm sure you witness many neat happenings with the feral cats which would be great to photograph if you knew before hand that they would occur.

Calicos, the "Lucky Cats"
Calico cats are generally considered to be lucky throughout several different cultures. In Japan, for instance, it was thought that having a calico in the house would bring its owners good luck, and having a calico on board ship was considered to protect the sailors from harm. In England and parts of the United States, male calico cats are considered to be even luckier than normal calicos due to their extreme rarity. These cats are often called money cats, due to the popular, though mistaken, belief that they are worth a lot of money. This rumor probably started when a research establishment put out a call for male calicos to test them for fertility. In fact, because the vast majority of male calicos are infertile, they are no good for breeding programs and therefore, not worth a great deal of money. Amazingly, male calicos are said to have been advertised for sale at more than $10,000. That does not mean that anyone paid that price though. Female calicos, on the other hand, are usually no more expensive than cats of other colors.
Barbara, I just added a picture of my daughter's male calico cat. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi Barb....Oops, I sent the pictures of Chico and Gracie:) I love this site. It is so wonderful.. I love reading about the cats. I am so glad someone is out there promoting spaying and neutering. I refuse to get any new animals except from a shelter every since we got Chico! There are to many puppy mills around and if people would stop buying from them, I think the shelters would do better in finding forever homes for their little guys!

Rhonda, thanks for your photos of Gracie Sue and Chico. I was so glad to find you got Chico away from the dog fighting 'gangs'. He is way too cute to be dog bait, and it would have been just too horrible to think about. Thanks for sharing your photos and your story! Barb

Hi Barb, Thanks for visiting my site and the birthday wish. I had a very nice one. As far as your photography goes, I think you have some fabulous photos. After all, feral cats are not an easy subject. My experience is that they rarely sit long enough for me to get a photo unless I'm a long away. Thus, I'm amazed at how close you are able to get to them.
