The Rams held their annual Liftathon on Saturday, April 21st. The numbers continue to be impressive due to the dedication of the off season conditioning. The Liftathon consists of three one rep max lifts: the power clean, bench press, and squat. The highest total goes to Donite "Green Mile" Bennett! Bennett had a total of 1275 pounds: bench press (355) power clean (300) and squat (620). Three others totaled over 1000 lbs: Barron Pearson (1050), Tyquan Lowery (1100), and David "Bubba" Grant (1100). Just a reminder...Bennett, Pearson, and Grant are rising Juniors!! There were another 13 players who totaled over 800 lbs. This was the first year that the rising freshmen participated in the Liftathon. The coaching staff is very excited about the potential that they see in this young, talented group of players. Three of the rising ninth graders stood out with impressive totals over 800 lbs. Adam Caskey had a total of 800 lbs, Trey Melton had a total of 835 lbs, and Trey McFarlin had a total of 900 lbs! The players are required to raise a certain amount of money through donations and pledges based on their lift totals. If you did not get a chance to sponsor a player it is not too late!!
Coach Ike Allred has taken over as the new head coach of our beloved Rams!! We are very excited about the changes that are taking place in C'field! The former Newberry College coach will bring a fast paced, high powered offensive attack. Paired with the Rams always relentless and aggressive defense, this promises to be another outstanding year for the Rams! Get ready people......football season is just around the corner!!! Go Rams!!!!
