Hi, my name is Mary Alderman and I am the organizer of the Holistic Mystic Fair. The concept of the fair came to be on a trip home from visiting schools when my daughter Jessica was getting ready for college. I wanted something I could do to occupy my mind while my daughter was away at school. Not that I had nothing to do, I have a full time job a house to keep, a husband of almost 27 years and two cats. I have recently completed my third degree in Usui Reiki, and I am an independent Scentsy Consultant.

I have always been fascinated with anything mystical and magical, but I knew that this would not be enough to interest the general public. I also had decided that when I grow up I would like to be a master herbalist. So my love of natural medicines and alternative healing grew into an idea to bring to our area something that was not readily available. I had been to a psychic fair and decided that I could do something like this on a larger scale, and I have.

The first fair was November 2006 in Augusta, Maine. Since the humble beginning at the Holiday Inn in Augusta, we have had two fairs a year one in the spring, one in the fall. I added one in the Portland area but was not happy with the results. I would be interested in organize a fair in the Bangor or Lewiston area if the right opportunity presented it self. Last year I co-organized the Topsham Brunswick Holistic Health Fair.

A new year is upon us with all new opportunities. Thanks for the invite. I have printed out the application and will have it in the mail soon, for the fair in Augusta. The Auburn one I need to wait and see how the Pagan Pride festival schedule pans out...double booking is a real drag. Otherwise, our book biz is doing great. The recent addition of a booth space at a collectibles mall in Scarborough ME has met with great success. From your last festival in Augusta, we have gained a contact at Heald Within to have a portion of our books for sale. Lois is still busy crafting her incense, which we have just added to the vendor space too.

Ok, enough chatter...we both look forward to our time with you and our fellow workers of light on March 31st. Bright Blessings!
