Meghan's Dance Recital
This past Saturday Meghan had her annual dance recital. This was her second year of Ballet and Tap. It was a Christmas theme this year...4 hours of Christmas music;) Meg did great and had a wonderful time!
Deployment Day
On Friday, May 21, we said our good byes to Mark. He left on a seven month deployment with his ship. It was a non-rushed morning and we got to spend about an hour on the ship and the kids were happy with that. It got to be "that time" and we had to say our goodbyes...it was an emotional day. After the ship left, me and the kids went over to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to the look out area. We saw the ship pass us once more and Mark had the ship sound its horn for the kids (he told them the night before if he saw us, he would have the horn sounded). The kids were all excited to hear it and after the the ship sailed off, we headed home.
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed that the ship returns home before Christmas!
Snow in Virginia!
We have waiting a long time for this....and we got it! We are predicted to get 6-12 inches of snow! When I took these pics this morning, we already had about 6 inches! It supposed to snow all day and night! The kids had alot of fun in the snow...the winds were really whipping so we had to come in earlier than expected. Hopefully the winds will settle down and the kids can play!
Happy Holidays!
We hope you had a very special holiday season! The kids had a fantastic Christmas as well as Mark and I. Hope 2010 is a great year for you all!
Father Daughter Dance
Meghan & Mark went to a Father/Daughte dance tonight at the local high school. It was sponsored by the Girl Scouts here in N. Suffolk.
Meghan was VERY excited to go and was surprised by the pretty wrist corsage we ordered.
I am quite sure she will have a great time with her daddy:)
Pumpkin Picking
We took the kids to pick out pumpkins this morning at a farm in Chesapeake. It was finally a good weekend to go...the past few weekends have been rained out. It was 87 degrees today...really warm for October here, but we'll take it:)
We picked out 2 good sized pumpkins. The kids played in the kids play area where there was rubber duck races, a hay maze and bean bag tosses. They also got their faces painted. Meghan got a pumpkin and Tyler got a candy corn.
We went to this farm during strawberry season in the summer. They had great strawberry crops and we now know they have great pumpkin crops!
Now we just need to carve the pumpkins:)
Suffolk Peanut Festival 2009
This past weekend we took the kids to the annual Suffolk Peanut Festival....waaaaay out in the deep part of Suffolk. We went last year and it was a good time and this year was just as fun. Suffolk VA is the birthplace of Planter's Peanuts:)
There are crafts, vendors, food, games and amusement rides. The kids had a great time on the amusement rides and playing games.
The weather was just picture perfect...70's and a great breeze. Mark and Tyler got some sunburns on their faces.
Take care!
September 16, 2009
Hi Everyone :)
We are now in the second week of school and Meghan LOVES IT! There is a lot of work in first grade, but she is doing well. We had Open House last night and we got to meet her teacher. Out of 23 kids in her class 2 parents (one of them us) showed up to Open House. From a teacher standpoint, that can be disappointing. But we got to chat with her teacher and we were told Meghan is doing well. Tonight is Meg's first meeting for being a Daisy Scout:)
Tyler is in his second week of Gymboree classes. He has a music class on Tuesday morning and a play class on Thursday morning. He is doing well and loves playing with the kids.
Other than that, we are doing well. Mark's ship as I write is getting out of the ship yard and heading back to the base. All the repairs are now complete.
That's about all from here!
Welcome!!
Welcome to our family website! Shutterfly has offered members space to make their own website. Since I have been having so many issues e-mailing pictures lately, I thought I would give this a shot:)
I take a lot of pictures of the kids so I will be updating this site often as well as adding journal entries.
