Hello family & friends! Thank you for checking out our family website! Here you can find updates on our family, photos, videos, and more. Check back often!
Lots of love, Shaina.
2010
This year is already almost over! I can't believe how quickly time is going. Zoe is 2 years old now and will be 3 in just 3 1/2 months. I will be 26 in a little over a month and Gage will be 25...I wonder if that means our car insurance will go down? haha. One nice thing about getting older I suppose.
This year Gage finished college with an A.A.S. in Computer Programming. Within a couple months of finishing school he found a job here in Sioux Falls working for a trucking software company called Rock Hard Systems. He LOVES his job! I've never known anyone to like their job so much before. We are so thankful for his job. This year he has also been running sound and playing drums at church (different weeks of course), and he also joined a band this year! He has been playing drums for our friend Rachelle Hope.
I am busy at home doing all that needs to be done and taking care of our precious little Zoe. On Mondays I have been babysitting our friend Rachelle's little girl too so that's been fun. When Zoe and Kyera are not arguing over a toy they have a lot of fun together playing with dolls and with Zoe's play kitchen.
This year in January I began a blog called Sioux Falls Frugal Mom. I now have over 2,000 readers and I'm making a little extra money through it as well. It has paid for several things we've wanted/needed each month. That has been such a huge blessing!
In other news, I also started writing for a new local family magazine called The Hood. I write basically as Sioux Falls Frugal Mom - one frugal tip for the family each month. I finished my school this year too and now have a Diploma in Photography. I have put my photography on hold right now though since I have so much else going on.
Zoe is full of energy and talks a LOT now. She says full sentences and she is even using proper grammar most of the time :) She loves swings and slides, watching TV shows like Dora, Team Umizoomi, and Go Diego Go, playing with her doll Lila, and playing hide and seek with her Daddy. She spends every Wednesday with her Grandma (Herrmann), and she has just recently graduated from the nursery at church into the 2 & 3 year old class which is run by none other than...Grandma. So she looks forward to Sundays as well :)

Zoe's Broken Leg
On the 4th of July Zoe was going down a slide with someone and her leg got caught under him and she ended up with a small fracture in her leg. Rather than seeing Fireworks that night we were in the ER. We didn't actually know it was her leg that was broken until 2 days later when they did X-rays on her left leg as opposed to the right leg they did X-rays on before... I think it is pretty silly that they made us guess which leg was hurt. They didn't want to x-ray both in the ER. Zoe can't talk so there was no way for us to know what the problem was. All we knew was that she wouldn't walk, so for the first two days we thought it was her right *foot* that was *sprained*. When we went to the bone clinic on the 6th, we told them that she kept holding up her left leg and sure enough, it was her left leg that was broken.
She figured out how to crawl again a few days ago so we have a crawler again, which is very strange! We were so used to her walking around. She hasn't walked since the 4th, but it seems to be healing pretty quickly. They said 1-2 weeks so hopefully she should be walking again soon.

Summer 2009
Zoe is 15 months old now and she loves to learn new words, walk around, and play with everything she possibly can! So far our Summer has been pretty exciting! In the beginning of June, Zoe and I went out to San Diego for 10 days. We spent time with lots of friends and family. Then on the 13th, Gage and his family flew out to CA and we met up in Los Angeles. We drove to Yosemite National Park on the 14th where we stayed for a week. Following that week we stayed at some condos near Bass Lake for a week, for a Herrmann Family Reunion! We arrived back at home on the 27th.
Gage has gotten back to his busy work schedule and Zoe and I are adjusting to being home again after a month of being gone. Zoe has a cold/fever right now so she is asleep. We were up most of the night last night, I even made a 3am trip to HyVee to buy a new thermometer (the one second in the ear kind) and some more medicine for Zoe. I'm hoping she rests most of the day so she can get rid of this sickness quicker. Poor baby has been sick so much in the last few months! I have been as well. It seems like every week one of us has some kind of illness. Hopefully this is the last of it for a while!

Fall 2008
This Fall has been wonderful so far! We went to pick Apples in September, Zoe and I went to the Pumpkin Patch in early October, we've been to an Autumn Festival, and we've enjoyed all of the leaves changing and slowly falling from the trees - something we were never able to do in San Diego! The weather is gradually getting cooler and cooler each day. Before we know it, it'll be another freezing cold winter here in South Dakota! I'm enjoying the warmth while I still can. :)
Zoe is now 7 months old and in the 12th percentile - she's a petite little girl at just 15 lbs! She becomes more and more entertaining every day! Her current favorite things to say are, "Bababababa" and "Dehdehdehdeh" and "Wushhhhhh" She has also started making this funny face where she crinkles her nose and breathes in and out of it a few times really fast, all while puckering her lips into a face that almost looks mad! She does it when she is very happy or excited. She hasn't quite figured out how to crawl yet but she'll get there soon.
