The results were pretty impressive.

Our little Roman (Middle name: Avelino, Sebastian, or Russell) La Force weighed in at approximately 5 lbs 13 oz (at less than 8 months!) with a heartbeat of 156 bpm.

The whole family was present for the occasion.  We all got to see Roman's chubby little body and his cute features.  He looks just like Hawk did when he was in utero!  One feature we couldn't deny was his distinct "Abad" nose... just like Mommy and his big brother and sisters  (Thanks Grandpa!).  

It was an amazing day... I can't stop grinning :)

The next trail was like a maze.
It took us to old remains of a building at the edge of a cliff.

We made it to the edge.

But we decided to hike all the way to the top of the mountain instead!

It's hard to believe that another month has passed... and we are merely days away from our 2 month mark here in Okinawa! Just as our Hawaiian glows have become accustomed to long pants and sweaters... February brings the warm weather back to Okinawa. And when I say warm, I really mean, "I hope you are wearing deodorant," kinda warm! The humidity here is insane. Let's just say, even the walls in our house sweats.

But on the bright side... at least we can wear our cute summer clothes again :)  

Our month started off wonderfully. We explored the northern part of the island around Nago, and the drive was beautiful. I think when people compare Okinawa to Hawaii, they must be talking about the northern part of the island. We were on our way to attend the Nago Cherry Blossom Festival and ran right into Pineapple Park (by accident), where we decided to take a little break and see how it compared to the Dole Plantation in Hawaii. It was an interesting experience, and the free samples were definitely a crowd pleaser! If the Dole Plantation was Walt Disney World, then Pineapple Park would probably be Disney Land. 

The Cherry Blossom Festival, however, is a whole different ball game! There were endless booths selling all kinds of local favorite foods; the day was filled with entertainment, music and games for the kids were at every corner. The local music in the evening was breathtaking and we even got to climb over 320 flights of stairs to see the Shinto Shrine. "Hanami" or, flower viewing, is definitely something we'll do as a family every year during our tour.  It was amazing... and yummy :)

Valentine's Day for us was wet and warm. It was so humid that sometimes it would start sprinkling, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. But despite the weird weather, we were determined to take the kids to Sunabe Baba Park as we had promised them earlier in the week. God is definitely watching over us, because it didn't rain once while we were there. In fact, it was pretty sunny for most of our stay. This park, is a park like no other we've seen before. It had a huge windy slide with roller seats (imagine sliding down a few hundred rolling pins) and a zip-line type of ride with a ball to sit on. All that, located near a beach! It was crazy!

As the weather warms up, and our need to spend time away from our "sweaty walls" increases, we are excited to explore new places and share them with our extended online family. Our next stop is Butterfly Paradise, word is that the "redder" the outfit, the more likely the butterflies will land on you! Stay tuned....

It's been cold, cold, cold! The weather takes a bit getting used to over here. We haven't really done too much except settle in to our new home on Camp Mc Tureous. Jeremy got promoted to Staff Sergeant on January 5 at Camp Hansen, and we moved into our new home on the evening of January 8. Rhyza started the 2nd grade at Bechtel Elementary on January 14, and so far, she seems to enjoy it. She says it's easier than her school in Hawaii... and she seems to be adjusting well and making friends in class and around the neighborhood. Makaela, unfortunately, missed the cut-off date to start Kindergarten by one month. She was very upset, to say the least. She will stay at home with Mommy and Hawk until a slot for Pre-K opens up for her. Mr. David Hawk is growing and learning more and more each day! He loves balls, cars and tools. He is starting to mimic words and he loves to give kisses "with sound", as we like to say. His favorite words are "Ball", "Ah-ppole" and "Gang-pah".

Hello family, what can i say except my heart is bursting with happiness to see you all so happy and gorgeous...the kids are so beautiful and growing too fast. Roman is so big and so handsome like his Kuya. Oh, i miss you all so much. I can't wait for September next year!!! thanks for all the updates making sure we have not missed anything with the kids growing too fast, last week's pictures seemed old. Torii beach is so beautiful, the water is so clear- just beautiful. Bathawk, SuperHawk, BuzzlightHawk or whatever is a real HEROHAWK. He could be the JOKERHAWK and he would still be a KILLER. So adorable. ayayay
