Brad, at least there's 2 of you, so you can get everyone's autograph & even twice.
This "one autograph per person" puts me in a tight spot.
I have a best friend who celebrates his 30th birthday after I get back & I thought I'd bring him a signed birthday gretting from either Scott or Dean, but not at the thought of sacrificing my OWN autograph. & I have another friend that if it wasn't for her, I wouln't even know there's a Con. Voth of them deserve to have autographs, but now I either sacrifice my own autograph from Scott (which I'd probably do) or not get either any of these things. I can't even get them another's autograph (from that pass), coz that would mean sacrificing my own. & This is my one & only Con abroad. 
& like ChickenBoo, I don't remember them saying anything about autograph pass when they announced the tickets prices. (hence what the brackets say today).

we have never been to a convention so we didn't know what to expect, regarding autographsi guess we have to buy it soon or we will get charged 50 bucks a pop instead, hopefully I can get Scotts autograph or photo with him and maybe Zoe can get Deans. I am rather annoyed about the autograph thing, too. Originally, the website said "Your seat number determines your place in line for autographs." That is all it said. I'm wavering on whether or not to drop extra $$ for this.
In other news, here is my schedule for chat... Thursdays and Fridays: 11pm-6am; Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays: 3pm-10pm. I am online during those times because that's when I'm at work. Actually, I'm at work half an hour earlier and later than each of those time spans, but shift change is rather hectic. Oh, all times Central. If I need to be online at another time, I will try my best to go to my parents' house and use Dad's computer.

Who buys or sells a space in line? A line for a product that is sold separately? NOBODY.
I did always suspect this was going to happen. I get the sense they were not sure how they were going handle autographs when they set up those ticket levels. So it was word vaguely.
I have a Gold Ticket. So I knew I was going to be in the middle of the autograph lines.... But I figured I had already payed for those autographs. The guest stars at least.

We bought Diamond Tickets, as it was a once in a lifetime event and we are travelling so far.
FOr this ticket price it should be included.
I just copied this off the site, and I dont remember reading it when i bought the tickets:
Your badge/seat number will determine your position in lines (with purchase of Autograph Pass) for participating guest stars autographs. Accelerator Chamber tickets are numbered lower than Control Room tickets.
That part in the brackets i dont remember reading.

I can get a minivan that will seat up to 7 passengers for about $133 for two days, not including the $25 park-it-somewhere-other-than-where-you-got-it fee. That's from Enterprise. I haven't checked Alamo yet. Do they pick up?

Herlee, Don't get a car unless you absolutely have to. Parking at the hotel is $13/night, in addition to the per day price for your car rental!
Super Shuttle gives rides to the hotel from the airport and back. It's $22 one way from LAX to the hotel, or from the hotel to LAX. It's $13 one way from BUR (Bob Hope airport in Burbank) to the hotel, or from the hotel to BUR. That beats the price for a cab by a long shot. I priced them, and when I awoke from passing out, I saw that the screen did indeed say plan on a minimum of $50 for a cab out of LAX.
Here is my plan: Rent a car early the morning of Thursday, meet you guys at the hotel (I'll be staying in Glendale until Friday night), and return the car Friday morning (after checking out of Glendale), and then get a lift to the con hotel. Enterprise (who will pick me up) has a car lot that is less than a mile from my motel in Glendale. They'll charge $25 extra to return the car to the lot that is close to the con hotel (instead of the lot in Glendale), on Friday morning. That beats ~$35 for a cab from Glendale to Universal City.
Oh, do I need to plan for 5 people, including me; or 5 people in addition to me?

Picking me up was a question that was left hanging.
When you choose this date I said I would have to miss out because my flight arrives in the middle of that day. But you said not to lose hope let. THat the group would discuss it and maybe you would stop off and get me.
Considering my flight arrives at 12:05pm I figured I'd miss out on the early part but not the later stuff and the actual bowling.
If its too far out of the way to get me I understand. Disapppointed but I will understand.
Unless you were thinking of getting me at the hotel later? My backup plan was to pay for a shuttle bus.

When I saw John's pic right at the top of the page I got so excited! I really though he'd be joining, as I'm a Trekkie above being any other show's fan.... I was just about to jump off the bed from joy & flaunt my up & coming new friendship with John to my friends... when I read that he will NOT be coming...

A one day rental would be cheaper than you renting for more days than you need buddy. I suggest you let Boo do it since I will be helping her. Boo, I suggest an SUV. Always put the car on hold. Never give a credit card when booking unless they require it. ENTERPRISE picks you up. Verify with them. Also, ALAMO is my company of choice but it really doesn't matter and I can take you to pickup the vehicle if you need to.

Before you book anything I was looking to rent a car sometime after the convention (as I'm doing a roadtrip). But after reading this, would it be worthwile me getting the car instead of chickenboo? If so I would have it from the 25th of March through the whole period of the convention! I don't know about parking in the hotel etc though. I was only going to book after the con to save costs as I'm on a budget, but if it's the case that another car is needed/useful and costs are gonna be shared (in some part) then I don't mind getting the car?

Oh, thank you so much, Marc! You are awesome! I've searched around the area of the hotel, and the only close Enterprise location that closes after 6pm is 3500 Cahuenga Blvd West, which closes at 7pm. :-/ And it just occurred to me that the convention doesn't start until 1pm (is that right?) on Friday, so I could keep the car until Friday morning, if we need it for later that night. (I'll just have to pay for two days of rental, and parking at the hotel that night.) So if that happens, change my "How late should we stay out" vote to "Whenever!"
Now I just need to figure out what size car we'll need. I don't know anything about cars and their comfort, other than my Scion xB (oh so comfortable), and a Crown Victoria Police Edition (not so comfortable).

Unfortunately, we won't be able to take anyone else in our car since we'll be removing the back seats before we leave Alabama, to make more room for stuff/ reduce vehicle weight. Considering when I fly in I may miss all but the Bowling and Hollywood Boulevard. I am a night owl though so I am up for seeing stuff later too.

I'll be running out to the coast TONIGHT to watch the nighttime launch of the Space Shuttle DISCOVERY. My good friends Mike and Denise Okuda will be joining me for the launch of Space Shuttle ATLANTIS on May 12th. They have VIP privileges because Mike designed the mission patch. I won't be able to join them in the VIP viewing area but I will be spending the rest of the day with them at the Cape. And of course I will be visitng them in LA during LeapBack. They're not sure yet if they can come bowl with us but I'm still trying.
