It's getting down to the wire now. 2 more weeks until our son is 3 years old and 3 more weeks until our daughter is born. What a crazy ride it's been for us.
Yesterday I had my 36 week checkup and all is well. Miley's heartrate was 146 and she had plenty of fluid around her. My blood pressure was great also. So basically, we're both healthy as horses and it's just a waiting game for us.
Brett's birthday is April 9th and we're still unsure of what we're going to do. Since we don't want to stress over planning a big party with the baby's due date so close, I think we're just going to have a small get-together at our house. Keep it simple. Pizza, soda, snacks, and cake with our closest family. Sounds delicious.
Anyways, that's all for now.
Took Brett to see Dr. Kim his pediatrician and his diagnosis... he has a cold on top of his sinus infection.
Double whammy.
The good news is that it's not as bad as we thought. The better news is that his sinus infection is just about cleared. He finishes his antibiotics tonight and then it's on to kicking the cold. So Benadryl is just what the doctor order. And what's great is that when he has a cold in the future, we don't have to waste time and money visiting the doctor. We can just use the Benadryl as his cold medication.
Mid-December my poor baby would come in our room every morning saying, "I have a stuffy nose." Now it wasn't just a little runny nose or a few boogers lodged up there. It was the nastiest
green,
brown-yellow junk that were hard as rocks and filled up 4 tissues trying to clean it out with the snot sucker. Well, I finally got him to the doctor on New Year's Eve, said it was a sinus infection and gave him Amoxicillin. That
pink "bubblegum" flavored medicine worked like a charm. He happily took it for 10 days like he was supposed to and the stuffy nose went away. YAY!
I shouldn't be cheering yet.
4 days later, the dreaded stuffy nose came back. Took him back to the docs and she prescribed him another dose. I thought it was working until yesterday when he started to develop a small cough. Not just a little *cough cough* but more like a "I think I'm hacking up my lungs here" kinda cough.
Last night when I came home from work, I did my usual routine of fixing his blanket while he's sleeping. When I touched his belly I swear it felt like he was just out laying in a cloudless 100 degree day trying to get a suntan. He crawled into our bed at 2am and stayed with us through the night. His body temperature seemed to have cooled off but I could still hear the coughing.
As I'm writing this, it's 9 am and he's still asleep in our bed right behind me. This isn't like him. He's usually up between 7:30 and 8:30.
I'd hate to take him back to the doctors. I don't want to be one of those crazy moms that think, oh everytime her kid gets a scratch he needs to get stitches. I'm just concerned that he's been fighting this "cold" or "sinus infection" for a month and a half now and he's not getting better.
