For Drew's birthday Blake and Brady gave him a gift certificate to the Bettendorf Children's Museum...what a great gift!  We used it to buy a family membership for the year...and in the few short weeks we've had it we've gotten our money's worth.  There is a Bob the Builder exhibit there right now, which the kids love.  The pictures posted are from the first time we went.  Ben's favorite part is the room that projects their image onto a screen.  We stay in there a long time each time we go.  We've been going about one night a week and by the time we get there we're typically the only ones there.  So, it has been a lot of fun for them!  We did learn not go to on Monday nights (free night) it's way too busy, but Drew likes the popcorn that they have on Mondays!

It's been a while since I've updated...I'm slowing down on the picture taking.  I need to step it back up!  We've had lots of fun over the last couple of months!  Drew turned 5 with a birthday party at the YMCA.  He invited some friends from school and they had fun playing in the gym & swimming! 

 

We went a Hawkeye basketball game and the boys loved it.  Ben ran a lap around the top and it pooped him out.  So, we only stayed through half time, but they had lots of fun.

 

In February we started the potty training journey with Ben.  It started off a little rocky, but we've had almost a week without any accidents.  He's doing fantastic. 

 

We've got a new addition to the family.  Colton joined us a little over a week ago.  Drew loves having a new cousin...again, I'll post some pics when I get them uploaded!

 

Drew starts baseball this week.  I'll post some pics when I get them.  The boys are looking forward to spending some time at Grandma and Grandpa Fontenoy's while Chad and I take a trip to Vegas. 

Christmas this year was fantastic. 

 

It started with the boys' first Christmas program at school.  Their old school didn't celebrate holidays so we were very excited that QCCDC celebrates!  Drew did great, he sang his little heart out in his Santa costume.  Ben saw the crowd and didn't want any part of it, but he did look very cute in his Rudolf costume.  He sat in Miss Minnie's arms (Drew's teacher) during their part of the program.  It was very sweet!

 

We stayed home and all of our family came to us, however we did miss the Hilburger crew.  Drew & Ben (yes Ben is still a part of our family even though I forgot to put his name on our Christmas card...oops!) were so excited to have Blake, Brady & Gracie come to our house.  It was non-stop action after they got here.  They made really good cookies for Santa Clause, I'm sure he had a gut ache after eating all of the frosting & sprinkles that were on them!  The kids had a blast opening presents...Drew was so proud of his present tower!  He loved all of his presents, as did Ben.  Ben got enough Lightening McQueen stuff to last him forever...but his favorite was his Diego Rescue Pack & Drew's favorite was the Moon Sand & Spiderman backpack!  Drew & Ben also got a Jeep, just like Grandpa Augie's.  They are going to become the youngest members of the Tri-State Stump Jumpers.  I was a little nervous Ben had whiplash after the first time Drew drove the Jeep outside.  He would get going and then slam on the breaks...Ben was laughing the entire time.  The boys are very blessed to have two great sets of grandparents!

 

Chad and I spent New Year's Eve with friends this year and Drew & Ben went and had a New Year's Eve party with Grandma Carolyn & Grandpa Augie.  From the sound of it they had a lot of fun...so did Chad & I. 

 

We're looking forward to a great 2009...we're already planning our first vacation of the year...Vegas in March with several of our friends.  I also can't believe that Drew turns 5 years old in a few weeks, we're going to celebrate with a pool party at the YMCA.  It just doesn't seem possible.  He is growing up so fast!!  Ben is talking more each day...my favorite is when you ask him a yes or no question and if he answers yes he says "uh-huh" in a very quiet sweet voice.  He's got a lot going on in his head...can't wait to hear it all! 

We've had a busy last couple of months.  In late October we went to Grandma & Grandpa Micek's to visit Uncle Scott, Aunt Jen, Blake & Brady.  The boys had a blast playing with their cousins.  If they weren't outside playing baseball they were running up and down the hallway screaming & laughing. 

 

Halloween this year was a blast.  It was so fun to see Drew & Ben dressed up and running house to house.  Grandma Carolyn & Grandpa Augie came and went trick or treating with us.  I think Grandpa Augie ended up carrying Ben more than he had anticipated.  We're still eating candy and it's a month and a half later!

 

For Thanksgiving this year we went to visit our friends Ryan, Colette, Aden & Reese O'Donnell in Johnson City, TN.  It was a 12 hour drive and Drew & Ben are great travelers.  We drove to Lexington, KY the first day and got to the hotel in time to swim before bed time.  The four kids couldn't have played better together.  Drew keeps saying "remember that time we went to Aden's house?"  We drove straight through on the way home and I was so proud of the boys.  They are the best little travelers.  Drew didn't sleep the entire way home...except for the last 15 minutes.  I think we only heard "how much further" a few times.  Drew was happy because we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings on the way home...his favorite!

 

We are looking forward to Christmas.  We're hosting this year and are very excited to have our family coming here.  We will miss Amy, Mike & kids, but everyone else will be here!!!

Well, the Micek's are on the move again.  We just moved into our new house in Bettendorf and we think it's the best one yet!  Both boys are adjusting to the new surroundings and day care.  They have 28+ kids on our street to play with, so they're loving the neighborhood!

 

Amy got married last week, which was awesome.  She looked beautiful and is so happy!  Mike, Kyle & Claire are a great addition to our family!!!

 

We went to the pumpkin patch with Gracie this weekend.  Of course the boys had to pick out the biggest pumpkins.  Our two pumpkins were 86 lbs!  Drew can't wait to carve them!!!
