So if you really want the run down check out the blog i listed above. There is also a link there to this photosite.
Love,
Us
Well we made it! I had my hernia surgery at North Western on Dec.4. My one surgery turned into two, and my hospital stay of three days turned into a week, but hey at least I came out of it all with my belly button still in place. The road has not been easy, but much better then last time. We have had so much help from our parents, siblings, my employer, and our friends and neighbors. We are SO blessed! I am definitely on the road to recovery, but still unable to lift my precious little girl:( I feel so much better and the pain that I felt physically for so long is no longer there. I am anxious to get back to work, to be able to drive a longer distance, to hold Livy, and believe it or not exercise.
A few wonderful updates. I am going to be an Auntie AGAIN! My sister Heather and her husband Aaron are expecting in June. I am so excited, and am anxious to find out if I will be able to pass on some of Olivia clothes or will get to buy new ones for a little boy.
Olivia has officially moved into her "big girl bed". We did it so I could but her to bed, as I couldn't lift her into the crib. So far she has done fairly well, but I seems that when we have "helpers" over when Marty is at work she likes to stay up later.
I do have new pictures to add, but my camera is upstairs and it takes some effort to go up and down. I will try and add them soon.
So far the 2010 is off to good start! We thank you all for all your kind thoughts, support, and prayers.
Wow! So far we have had a busy fall. Olivia attended her first Iowa Tailgate. She loved it; (of course with a Daddy that is a Hawkeye fan, we figured) she was dancing for everyone to see. She also has been on a roll picking up every little word that you say…so we have to be carefulJ Olivia has decided that she loves to run…with her eyes closed – many little bruises and bumps have come her way. She went to get her first pumpkin this weekend and enjoyed time with her cousin Austin. She also spent whole day with her Aunt Chris and Cousins Andy and Mikey. She loves her “guys” and likes to look at their pictures. For Halloween she is going to be a Little Angel, I thought it was fitting. We have added some pictured to The "Little Moments" tab at the top.
We have a date set for my next and hopefully final surgery! December 4th it is! It is strange to say that you’re excited about surgery, but I am just really eager to move on and hopefully fix some of my pain physically and emotionally. It has been a long road for me, Marty, Olivia, and our families and I think we all need to shut this door. Please keep us in your prayers. We will need it!
As fall comes to a close, I look forward to winter - The joy of the Holiday season, the light in Olivia’s eyes on Christmas morning, and the moments that will warm my heart as we begin to spend more time with our families and friends.
Blessing to all of you.
This past Sunday Olivia started Sunday school at the First United Methodist Church in Dekalb. She had a great time, and really liked the painting craft that they did.
Once again we will be heading up to the cabin in Michigan over Labor Day to help close up for the winter. It is sad that summer is almost over, we have had alot of fun this summer at camp and can't wait until next year.
Hawkeye Football season is here! We will being missing the first game, but I am sure that Marty will be making the trip out Iowa for the rest of them. Livy and I plan on joining him for a few, she has to wear her Iowa Cheerleading outfit before she outgrows it!
I go to Northwestern Hospital on Monday, September 14. Please keep us in your prayers for good news, so we can continue on the road to peace and closure.
A few new pictures of Olivia on her first day of Sunday School have been added.
I guess the most exciting news is that Little Liv has started potty training! She so far has done really well, so keep your fingers crossed. The other big news is that Olivia got to meet her Great Grandma Ottilie and her Great Aunt Beth last month. They came for a visit and it was so neat to see Four Generations of Ottilies all together. There are pictures of the visit under the Little Moments tab of the page. Liv is also saying many words and loves to talk on the phone, so if your bored one day give her a ring. She loves animals and can't seem to get enough of doggies! Luckily we have many family members that have dogs and so do alot of our neighbors. Mommy and Livy take a walk everyday and look for dogs and flowers. The whole way she jibber jabbers. I think she may grow up to be a talk show host.
Things with me (Heidi) are going well. Olivia and I spent a week in Michigan with my family while Marty was back home working. It was a great trip and she got spend some time on the water and just being outside with nature. It was way too long for both of us to be away from Daddy so next time we will make sure he can come. I went to the Doctors at Northwestern back in May and will return again in Spetember to talk about the next steps we will be taking. Physically I feel the best i have felt in along time, but am looking forward to next year when i will have my next sugery.
Marty has been busy with work and golfing. A month ago he went up to Galena and golfed Eage Ridge for the weekend. He had a great time and it was a much deserved break away for him. He is anxiously awating the start of the Hawkeye Football season.
So i guess we are really blessed - we are happy and enjoying the Little Moments right now....what a great life!
