Nate placed 4th place at the Old Chicago NCCT on 12/17/11. There were 12 Colorado ranked wrestlers in his bracket and 33 total. Nate lost to the #1 and #3 ranked wrestlers in 5A. Thornton had two other wrestlers make to it day two (James Rheinheimer, Levi LeBaron) which had 57 teams scoring points in the tournament. Thornton finished 40th as a team.
