New house
Will and I moved a couple of weeks ago! We're living in SLC now. And I finally have just about everything moved in! yay! Its so nice having my own home again. I love being able to come home and relax with Will alone. He loves it too. I think he missed time alone with mommy :) It's also been wonderful being so close to work. That extra 45 minutes of sleep makes a huge difference when you're waking up at midnight for the day!
Other than that, we've been pretty sick over here. I've had a nasty flu and poor Will's nose has been stuffed for over two weeks now... But it is the season! Seems like everybody I know has some sort of bug right now. Luckily Brandt was kind enough to take Will for me yesterday so that I could sleep all day. That was much needed!
Not much exciting going on
So I haven't written here for awhile, but I actually have a moment of spare time! (That's a luxury these days!) Life's been really good and really busy. Working graves has been... interesting ... the thing I've learned most from it is that sleep is really more optional than necessary. I'm surviving just fine on the little bit I've been getting.
Will has grown up so much even just this past month! He says all sorts of words now. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are : mama, dada, water, Tanner, cheese, bread, eat, duck, and dog. All of his favorite things! lol He already has quite the attitude too... He throws a tantrum at least a couple of times a day. But they're getting better- slowly but surely :)
I'm really enjoying my job. I've grown really close with the kids (well most of them lol). It's rewarding to be able to help them. It is stressful though. There are a lot of emergency situations that come up working with high risk youth! It's definitely a good fit for me though. They respond well to me. And I feel really comfortable in the position.
Life is good! And Will and I are happy and healthy :)
I have a job!
After months and months of searching, someone has finally hired me lol It's been tough finding a "career" and not just a "job"... Definitely a much tougher market to job hunt in... but I've finally done it! :D I'll be working as a young adult mentor for kids coming out of treatment and rehab programs. I'm way excited to finally be putting my degree to use :) This should be interesting!
I can't believe my baby is one year old
it's crazy it feels like little Will was a newborn just yesterday... and now he's walking and talking and getting into everything. It's been so fun seeing his personality start to show.
He's so funny and has the goofy and really likes to show off... when Aunt Jess and Uncle Tanner get home from work, he runs around like a crazy child and tries to get them to watch him. It's hilarious. He also likes to flirt with old ladies whenever I take him out lol He's really a handful now that he's a toddler, but I'm loving every second of it!
New life :D
So Will and I moved in with Tanner and Jessica a couple of weeks ago. It's been great! Will really loves having people around and he's grown really close to them. It's cute seeing him get so excited to see them in the morning and when they come home from work. It's also nice having a pool for him to splash in. He loves it!
As for me, I've been searching everywhere for a job. It's been difficult finding things in this job market, but I haven't given up hope :) So far there's a lot of prospects, just waiting on hearing back from them!
Life is really good though :D I love actually having other people around in the evening (babies don't count! lol) It's been really fun. I like West Jordan a lot. It's nice. I'm even considering staying here when Will and I eventually move into our own place... who knows? Life's an adventure!
Adventures of the Walking Baby
So as you probably know, Will has been walking for the past couple of weeks. It's the cutest thing watching him take tiny baby steps and trying to keep balance (especially while attempting to hold two toys in both hands at the same time lol). He's able to walk all around the house, even maneuver around things! This past week he also learned how to stand up on his own without even holding onto anything.
I thought he was a handful crawling, now I REALLY have my hands full :)
To top it all off, he can say mama and dada and please (which he pronounces as flicka haha- don't ask me why!) He's growing up so fast!!
Road Trip
So we had to take Will out on his first road trip for Grandma Colton's funeral, which isn't a fun thing, of course! But Will did amazingly well for driving 20+ hours for a weekend trip. He was such a trooper and only had a minimal amount of melt downs. Makes a momma proud :)
After the funeral and visiting with family, Brandt, Will, Jean, and I all went to Zoo Montana and visited some Yellowstone geysers on the drive home. The geysers were so cool! They smelled awful because of the sulfer... but it was fun to watch them shoot in the air. And Will thought they were fun too :) He didn't make a peep except to laugh or baby babble for the entire hour and half walk around the park.
It was fun to see how much William loves animals! At the zoo he thought the goats were so exciting. He loved feeding them and didn't even get scared once :) The funniest part of the whole trip had to be how much he loved the bison though. I have never seen him get so excited about anything in my life! They were walking next to the car and we let Will hang out the window to look at them and he was so thrilled. He probably had the most fun out of any of us! lol
All in all it was a really good trip. It was nice to see Grandma Colton one last time and look at old pictures and take Will on some new adventures. Since he was such an angel, we'll defintly have to take him out on more vacations!
Will's Surgery
Well, we are so glad to have Will's adenoidectomy over and done with! His surgery was scheduled for 9:30 in the morning on the 23rd and it only took about 15 minutes once they started. The doctors said that he did great and it only took about an hour after the surgery before he was (semi) awake and ready to go home.
That day was really rough. He was very tired from the anesthesia and crying a lot. It's too bad we could only give him Tylenol for the pain! Last night he was up every couple hours or earlier, so we just let him sleep in bed with us. Today he's been much more like his old self. He's still sleepy and whiny, but at least he's up and talking again :)
Hopefully we'll never have to have another surgery again! Thanks to everyone who remembered him and asked about how he was doing. It means a lot to have family that cares!
Of to the doctors... again
Poor little Will is not having a good past couple weeks! he's been yanking at his ears for a couple days now and not sleeping well so we're taking him to the doctor again to see if he may have an ear infection.
His surgery is coming up soon, also. So he definitely won't be feeling well after that either. Let's hope he at least feels better this next week before the surgery, poor guy.
baby's first cold
So it's been a whole lot of misery at the house for the past week! First I had a horrible flu/cold, and then poor Will must have caught what I had. He was so stuffy it was way hard to feed him. That and he spiked a little fever and has been coughing a lot. Poor guy. Luckily things seem to be on the up and up now! Hopefully we won't have to deal with another cold for awhile!
