Getting Started
improvisation helps get through the hard times when there's nothing to be said or how to say it- make it up, have fun with it and go along for the ride. I'm reading the book Improv Wisdom and it has various maxims of not preparing, just showing up, and then be present in the moment. Handy advice, but harder for some of us to do then others. Me, I'm all about it.
Limits
When I'm trying to do things- I'm like- "I'm gettting better". Then I feel so much worse and I have to recover for a day or two. Sadness. I looked at the paperwork- I'm deconditioned. I'm reconditioning- like Rocky.
I'm getting better
A couple of weeks after my surgery - I am getting better. I have more range of motion, more breath, and am sleeping better. It's still very painful, but that's what life is- the rollercoaster of life to achieve greater heights, we have to traverse valleys. The weird part is now I can actually feel my right lung expand and contract- which is totally new for me. I still cough and sneezing is horrible, and I can't pickup more than 5 or so pounds, but I'm getting stronger every day.
Funerals and Weddings
Lifecycle in the same week.
Never fun- facing the mortality, celebrating the union. All we can do is make the most of our precious time on this earth. Be positive, be helpful, be caring and enjoy.
ROI
It's important to think about how you get out of it what you put into it.
Family needs patience, unconditional love, and the serenity prayer.
Health needs proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep - restorative sleep.
Work needs deliverables achieved with the right approach.
Friends need cultivation.
And it all takes time.
Return on Investment.
Time mgt is key.
Get involved.
Restlessness
So many things- so little time. And it never, ever, stops.
Making lists helps me manage the deluge- until my lits of scraps and post-it notes start managing me with their unruliness. Oh for a better way. Yesterday a deleted 5 years worth of archive emails that I had always needed for availability and comfort. It was scary and freeing. Declutter- file- donate - burn pile. Thats how to regain focus- our at least I do - especially when I'm trying not to do something else...I think that's more chores, tasks and life calling- I'll see you then.
Selling Books online
Like pieces of my soul- I'm selling my books online at half.com and
amazon.com with the goal of simplifying our space needs, sharing knowledge, and trying to earn a little back from the layout. I even have a company
storefront- it's pretty cool.
Music makes me lose control
Posting up some of our Meritocracy videos and music to share for the world.
Computer Wisdom
Too much time on the computer at work with a hurt tush is just not right. I wish I had one of those action desks where I could stand and work.
Broken but not Beaten
Coccyx broken off my lumbar spine about a month ago sledding with Maji. Oh well, who needs a vestigial tail anyway?
Health and Wellness
Things are well! For the most part- I am like Mr. Glass I've found- but not to worry- I heal. Cai is one and so much fun. Maji is 4 going on 14. Laura is still Laura
