About Our Travels
"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page." St. Augustine
Our trip to New Zealand is over, we survived the driving on the "wrong" side of the street, and had some fantastic adventures. The boys fed wild eels, went zorbing, and ate hangi with a Maori family. They also went kayaking, 'tramping' (hiking to the non-kiwi) and spelunking. It was an amazing adventure.
before the trip
We have decided to go to New Zealand this year. Instead of staying with someone who lives in the country, we are going to rent a camper van and stay in campgrounds. Nan is a bit worried about this, she feels we will not get as intimate of a view as we have in our past travels. But, all travel is an adventure, and we are excited to be going on this one!
We will be flying Qantas Airlines to Auckland, renting our van, then venturing out into the country without a definite plan of where we are going or what we are doing. Just some printouts of areas that we wish to see, the things we wish to do and the hope of learning about another culture. .

Travel with a purpose!
In October we will be going to Siem Reap, Cambodia. We will be staying with Ponheary Ly, and helping to hand out uniforms to the school children at Koh Ker school. Stone, Tosh, and Tala have been making friendship bracelets to earn money for the Ponheary Ly Foundation. We are also looking forward to seeing the amazing temples, especially Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon.
