Who Is Tri-County Photography?

Who Am I?

My name is John Hinten and I am located in Centralia Missouri.
I have been an amateur hobby photographer for over 30 years, taking photos of road trips, vacations, the kids, school functions, etc...

I received my very first camera in 1970 ... a Brownie Instamatic! The spark was ignited. I carried my camera everywhere and took photos of everything and everyone.

I finally graduated to a SLR in 1982 while stationed in Idaho Falls. A Yashica with only a 35mm lens, but a whole new world was opened up to me as I had the capabilities to control my shutter, exposure and could use various ASA films for special shots! Since then I have owned several film SLRs but I have held on to my favorites. A Canon AE1 35mm SLR, a recently inherited Pentax ME 35mm SLR which was my uncle's before he passed away and a Pentax programmable 35mm SLR.

My first digital camera was a Polaroid with the internal memory and a 1MP sensor purchased in 1997. A toy at best but it was a starting place. I graduated up several times to other "point and shoot" internal memory digital cameras over the next few years but mostly relied on my film SLR cameras as I didn’t see a future with the "toys" replacing my film.

After battling a disabling illness for a few years, I finally purchased a digital zoom hybrid in 2005 ... a Kodak brand with a memory card, exposure and shutter speed settings as well as the auto modes ...

The fire was lit as far as digital goes.... this was sweet! No more buying film, paying for processing, waiting for the photos to come back to see how many blown shots I had etc.

It wasn’t long after that I purchased my Olympus E500 DSLR and I haven’t looked back since.

After showing my work to some family and friends I have been encouraged to open a photography studio as well as frame and sell some of my work. I don’t like the idea of being tied to a studio so I am doing this my way. I started the business, I have a studio in my home for the portraits that require a studio setting, but I mostly travel to locations for portraits and photographing for my clients as well as for my own enjoyment.

My ideal portrait photography are the on location

candid style portraits. They always seem more

relaxed, the client is usually happier with the result

(since there is no "stiff structured poses" to deal

with) and thus a much more relaxing, stress free

and enjoyable experience for all involved.

I just received the 3 previously prints that I had purchased from Mr. Hinton and I can not put into words how impressed I was not only again with the quality of his work but how well the prints were packed. Everything arrived intact and nothing broke. Again, his talent is stunning and his work absolutely amazing and beautiful. I would, again, recommend Mr. Hinton and his work, whether it be to capture your own cherished memories or to purchase prints of his photos or purchase one of his photos to hang on your own wall. You definitely can not go wrong. Thanks, John, for providing me with the most amazing art work to grace the walls of my home.

Sincerely,

I purchased one print from Mr. Hinten and am awaiting 3 others. The quality of his work is outstanding. His photographic skills are amazing and top notch. The print came not only matted but framed as well and the quality of work was excellent and very professional. I would recommend him to anyone and would pruchase his work again in the future.
