United Cerebral Palsy Association of Miami (UCP) is an organization that serves individuals with disabilities, and is made up of: Early Beginnings Academy Preschool and Charter School, Transitional Learning Academy for adolescents, and the Adult Training Program.
UCP programs and services are designed to meet the special needs of each individual and family served, with a common goal: to enable people with disabilities to reach their greatest potential, and achieve rewarding and productive lives as fully participating members of their communities.
The music therapy internship takes place in the Early Beginnings Academy Preschool and Charter School, serving children birth - age 8. The children have a wide variety of disabilities, including Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual disability, and developmental delay. Early Beginnings Academy is dedicated to helping children with disabilities achieve their fullest potential and maximize their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
