The theme for the next year in Student ministries is “The Harvest”. Times of harvest are sometimes the most painful times in our lives, these are the times when we have grown up tall and the fruit we have worked so hard to produce is now ripe, and it is time to give it up and give it out! “The Harvest” year of 2011-2012 will be heavily mission and outreach focused, while continuing to encourage the growth or “emergence” concepts from the year before. Many of our students 2 years ago gave their lives to Christ, and then this year after much growth, emerged into confirmed United Methodists! These students have made their commitment and now it is time for the fruits of their labor to be harvested to feed the many who are starving for even the scraps of what is on their table! I encourage the friends, families, and church communities of our students to be praying this year as we enter this season of “The Harvest”.
NEXT WEEK at youth group 1/22: GUEST MISSION SPEAKER Brian Scharf will be coming in! It will be an incredible time to get to know what incredible things Brian has done in his ministry and service to the LORD!

Think you can't afford CIY or another trip this summer? Work your way to pay!
These are members of S1UMC who have jobs which they need done around their homes. If you are interested in doing one of these jobs, text or call Pastor Kyle ...
I will set the appointment up for you, all you have to do is show up on time, work hard, and make some money. All of these people will be very generous in their giving, if you work for just 2 of these people you will qualify for an extra $25 scholarship towards your trip from the Church, if you work for 3, $30; 4, $35; and so on...
If we run out of people to work for, I will find more. If you are interested at all in going on our trips do not hesitate to turn in your forms and save your spot, money is not an issue, we will get you there. It may take some work on your part, but CIY is a big deal. So invite your friends and trust that we can do this!

CIY-Believe: (April 15-18)
A believe weekend is so many things. It's about students connecting with the Word. A believe weekend is intentionally for jr. high students only.
Two-days at believe will change students' lives. Believe uses tactile and interactive experience stations, structured free time, intentional small group times within the group, and engaging worship that will bring students to moments of crazy energy and contemplation before God. Throughout the event, the Believe staff uses God’s word, inspiring stories, and community encounters that lead to conversations and lots of FUN! Believe Conference is highly engaging and a dynamic program that creates small group opportunities that opens doors to junior high ministry. Believe promises to be an intense, inspiring, and amazing experience for jr. highers of any walk.
CIY stands firm in the belief that the Bible is the fully inspired Word of God. Faith in Jesus and obedience to His teachings are essential for salvation. Jesus is fully God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a death of atonement on a cross, was bodily resurrected, and is coming again in judgment of all men. CIY is committed to the restoration of New Testament teaching, principles, and practices.

Fall Retreat is ON!
We thought we would have to cancel, but the LORD works things out for those who love Him! We are on for Oct 22-23, 5pm-5pm... pick up at church will be at 6pm on Saturday. Sign ups are next week (Oct 10) at youth group!
We will be at Trinity UMC in Grand Island!
Theme: Emergence: Plow, Plant, Water, Harvest
Come to youth group Oct 31st to find out who our surprise guest will be!
This concert is going to be amazing, but in order to fly our guest in we need a few bucks, so the next few weeks our offerings will go towards bringing in our guest... so bring a few buck each week to help out!
REMEMBER MONDAY OCT 11, there will be a hot dog sale at emerling ford!!!!
This money will help reduce cost for Fall Retreat, as well as for the surprise concert in November!
This is a great way to document our memories as a youth group, and to stay informed about what is going on at Springville 1st UMC! If you have pictures to add to the page send them to pastorkyle@s1umc.org... I am excited to be able to begin putting up some pictures and special events on the Virtual Cave! Also some devotional ideas and prayers will be up here for your spiritual formation. It is great to be here at S1UMC-- Can't wait to get started with you guys!
