"SECRET SANTA" JOINS JUNIOR BOARD
One of the most exciting and unexpected events in Junior Board history took place recently on November 27th in a midtown office. Five of our Junior Board members met with "Secret Santa". "Secret Santa" is known for his generosity and commitment to keeping the tradition of Random Acts of Kindness alive – a tradition started by an old friend, Kansas City’s original "Secret Santa", Larry Dean Stewart. Secret Santa presented a challenge to the Junior Board members present. He handed each a $100 bill and told them they could do anything they wanted with it and the only catch was that they had to let him know what they did with it. This challenge was followed by an incredible and complete Random Act of Kindness when "Secret Santa" announced he would help match funds the Junior Board receives from the school. WHY JUNIOR BOARD?
Stewardship is an important characteristic to teach our children, and the Visitation Junior Board, in its seventh year, does just this. The Junior Board introduces 6th, 7th & 8th grade students to the business of philanthropy through hands on experiences and opportunities to meet the people that commit themselves to worthy causes on a daily basis. Those involved are also responsible for making intelligent financial decisions regarding the proper distribution of funds to eligible agencies.

Water.org is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization committed to providing safe drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries.
We envision a day when everyone can have safe water. How far will you go?
Water.org is challenging the traditional approach to assisting people in developing countries. Our goals are to draw attention to the world’s number one health problem, unsafe and inadequate water supplies, and to raise funds to help fight this immense problem – one community at a time.
