Suffolk County Town Meeting

Child Care Providers exercised one of the union's core missions, showed heart, persistence and power by advocating for children and families when they called together this town hall style meeting at the Long Island Region CSEA office in Commack.

Legislators received information from providers that influenced their decisions to support flexibility in how much providers can charge private pay even when contracted by the county for subsidized children, as well as funding issues that were already being discussed. Suffolk County DSS comissioner said some amount of the $10-$12M deficit in funding will be restored and childcare is very high on the County's priority list. 

As VOICE members we need to keep fighting, continuing to make our Voices heard until families and children get what they need and our businesses are relieved of this stress.
