Even though Shannon and her husband Scott do not live in this area - Hugh and I were blessed to meet them when they were visiting their family here at Ward's Chapel. After studing God's Word Shannon wanted to obey the Lord in baptism. Scott wanted to be restore his relationship to Christ after studying God's word too. We are blessed by their friendship in the Lord!
Ladies Appreciation Day at Wards Chapel Church of Christ
The Wards Chapel Church of Christ celebrated Mother’s day early, Sunday May 3rd, in an unusual way. The minister, Hugh Gower, gave a sermon about the women of the Bible reaffirming that women are not only important to God but also to the local church.
After the worship service the men of the congregation had a wonderful lunch catered by the Catfish Charlie’s Restaurant of Monroe. As Shannon Adkins cooked the food using the Catfish Charlie’s travel van with the help of Brandon, James and Hunter Adkins, the rest of the men of the church served the food.
Before the meal, Hugh Gower gave a word of appreciation to the ladies and Dale Reynolds prayed thanking God for all our blessings as Christians. The food and fellowship shared together that day gave each member a small taste of what heaven will be like through the kindness expressed toward each other. At the end of the meal Mary Emma Savage and Doris Kennedy spoke for all the ladies saying “Thank You” to the men.
May we all continue to look forward to the fellowship and peace of heaven when this life is over; you are welcome to be with us at the Wards Chapel Church of Christ so that you too will experience the joy of walking in Christ.

Isaac Daye really liked this Wards Chapel Sign so I took his picture in front of it. Thanks to Hoss Brantley of Wards Chapel for such a great sign!
