Fathers and Father-figures,
On Thursday, October 6th we held our 7th annual ‘Dads and Kids’ Night at Cottonwood school. We met here at the school gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. for pizza and drinks. At 7:00 we had a presentation about our WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) Program. WATCH D.O.G.S.® is an innovative program being used by schools across which helps them to be positively impacted by the committed involvement of fathers and father-figures in their student’s life. Fahters & father figures are invited to sign up to spend one day this year volunteering, serving as a positive male role model and helping increase a sense of security in the building. During their WATCH D.O.G.S. day, dads will engage in various activities such as welcoming students during arrival, reading to classes, tutoring small groups of students, having fun at recess, or simply sitting down and connecting with student during lunch. The possiblilites are endless!
Dads, granddads, uncles, step-dads and adult brothers . . . this is your chance to have a night out alone with your student in a fun atmosphere at school.
