Well, since my "long week," I had longer weeks. I shouldn't have spoken so soon! After I got Andrew taken care of and on the mend, Harry spiked a fever the Thursday of that same week. I just decided to take the cautionary road and took him in to the doctor the next morning. Yep. He had pneumonia, too. Antibiotics over the weekend pretty much set him on the mend. Just when I thought I was going to escape this evil bug, guess what happened. Yah, if you can't guess, I have a bridge to nowhere I'd be happy to sell you.
Fever, body aches, chills, general misery and certainty that I must be dying. Andrew promptly took me, and although it was a little early to be sure, the doctor thought there was enough to warrant proactive antibiotics. So another one bites the dust!
Annie has yet to really come down with this bugger of a bug. I don't know if I should even mention that. We'll see, I guess.
All that said, we've had some highlights to our February. Valentine's Day came and the kids were so excited you would have thought it was Christmas all over again! We got them both new shirts (Harry's said "This is what AMAZING looks like!"), heart candies, and little stuffed animals. They were SOOO HAPPY!! I heard "thank you, Mommy" dozens of times! They were both flying by the time we left the house, decked out and ready to celebrate Valetine's day with the classmates. I prayed for the teachers, but I don't know how they got anything out of those kids that day! I met them at Ruth's for dinner and they were still pretty wound up. By the time we went home, they were exhausted, though loathe to admit it. I think Valentine's Day 2012 went down in the books as a success.
Because I was sick, we had missed a scheduled play date with Harry's friend, Elliot. So on the 17th, Elliot came over for a couple hours in the afternoon. It really was quite fun. He and Harry get along well and played Star Wars in one form or another the entire time. A good portion was in Harry's room playing with the At-At and all the figures he has. But the last little bit broke down into all out battles using the SW planes as weapons and trying to hide from and scare each other! Sounded fun to me! (and nobody got hurt, of course!)
Sadly we are already over half way through February! It seems 2012 has only just begun and here we are flying through the second month. But I am glad for the upcoming weekend when Andrew and I have scheduled the kids to camp out with Grandma Ruth for the night! Just have to make it through another week!
We're almost there, but its been a long week (or week and a half!) There are no pictures to go with this note since its not customary (or polite) to take a picture of a sick person. Andrew was the winner this time, starting off with a low-grade fever and general fatigue and ending up with pneumonia and low blood oxygen levels. Yikes! Antibiotics are amazing little drugs and working their miracle cures on him.
Otherwise, we continue on with work, school, preschool, mommy-annie Starbuck dates, play dates for Harry, Pioneer Club at church, Andrew's tax work at HR Block, and other things we squeeze in along the way.
Hope everyone is doing well!

I love Fridays.
They're not always more relaxed at work, although this one has turned out to be so, but the kids and I make Friday nights movie night. They don't get any TV on school nights, so as a reward for slogging through the week's activities, we come home on Friday and collapse on the couch, or the rocking chair if you're mom, or on mom if you're Annie, and cuddle up for a good ole' fashioned Friday night at the movies.
We see whatever we can agree on that's available on Netflix instant stream, since Mom and Dad so far aren't organized enough to get the DVD turned around on a weekly basis.
We miss Daddy while he's doing taxes at HRB during tax season, but let's face it. We love our movie nights.
