Due to an unexpected conflict, the RCR meeting room will not be available for the booster club meeting on Monday, January 2nd. The meeting will be rescheduled to Tuesday, January 3rd at 6:30 pm. A big thank you from Kayliegh Rogers and her family for the recent help and assistance provided by the community and beyond. It is always great to see a community rally together to help those in need. We do live in a great community and are surrounded by great communities as well. The family is in awe of the quick and tremendous out pouring of support and assistance in their time of need. For now they are OK and the plan is for Chris to of course continue communications with them should any further needs arise. Again thank you all for the many items, gift cards and words of comfort provided to our neighbor in need.

As many of you may already know there was a devastating house fire in Welcome this morning. Kayleigh Rogers is one of our soccer players. She and her family lost everything they had except for the clothes that they went to school and work in. I am sure there will be many needs to come but presently they are in need of Girl size 10 pants, youth medium shirts,  shoe size 1-2, and 12-18 month size baby girl clothing.

Final Soccer Signups will be held at the Welcome Gym on Friday, August 26th from 6-8 pm and on Saturday, August 27th from 2-4 pm. If you haven't signed your child up for soccer for the Fall season, this is your final opportunity. If you have any questions, please contact Jon Witherspoon at 399-4369!

Welcome Athletic Booster Club is hosting a free soccer mini camp beginning Monday, August 22nd through Tuesday, August 23rd from 6 pm to 8 pm. The camp will be held at the Welcome Athletic Complex on the soccer fields behind Welcome Elementary School. The camp is free of charge for all new and returning players. Camp will focus on skills sessions and fun scrimmages to jump start the fall season. If your child would like to try soccer and is unsure about playing - this is the camp for them!!! Camp is open to participants ages U6-U14. All participants should bring water or Gatorade and a soccer ball. Participants should wear shin guards, soccer cleats or tennis shoes if the child does not have cleats yet. They should wear appropriate clothing - shorts and T-shirt - NO Jeans! Welcome Athletic Booster Club is hosting our annual Football Camp beginning Monday, August 15th through Thursday, August 18th from 7:00 - 8:30 pm at the Welcome Athletic Complex. The cost is $20.00 which includes instruction from the Welcome Football coaches as well as a T-shirt upon completion of the camp. In order to receive the T-Shirt at the completion of camp, the $20.00 fee must be paid on the first day of camp. The camp is open to children as young as 6 up to 6th grade. The children will be broken into age appropriate groups. If you have any questions, please contact Will Rogers at 239-3657.

Football Physicals are required for all children playing Pee Wee and Little League Football. Welcome Booster Club will be offering sports physicals for players at the Welcome School Gym on Wednesday, August 17th beginning at 6:30 pm. The cost is $10.00 per child and Dr. Ted Nifong will be the physician conducting the physical. Please come out and take advantage of this opportunity!

Welcome Outlaws won championship game in North Davidson Modified T-Ball Division.  We finished 15-1. We beat Arcadia Black Knights 11-10.  Great game for 2 great teams.  I am proud of not only the Outlaws, but the Cubs, Dodgers and Yankees also.  I think it was a succesful season for all teams.  A round of thanks goes out to all the coaches for teaching these players how to play the game.  Remember, this division is the foundation for a solid baseball program at Welcome.  I hope everybody had a fun and enjoyable season.

Just a reminder to everyone that has volunteered for gate duty that the charge for regular season games is $1.00 for everyone 16 years old & older.  That is true for all games at every field.  Apparently, there has been some confusion about the age limit.  Only for tournament games is the age 12 years & older.

If everyone can check their childs bag. My friend's son has lost his dark brown with a little black on it glove. He plays on Derek Swink's Rookie ball team. If you find it please let Derek Swink know or turn it into the concession stand.

Also, I found a lt. blue chair last night at field #2 it does not belong to anyone on the minors or majors team, so who ever had practice before us check with your parents. I will turn it in to Tanya at the concession stand this evening. 

Due to some adding some games to the Junior Girls schedule and two Junior Boys games being moved from Saturday afternoon to Friday night, we need volunteers to help with gate and concessions, this Friday night, May 6th from 5:15 - close. Any time you can donate is greatly appreciated. Rest assured, we understand this is outside of the teams "scheduled assignments", but due to the shuffling around in the schedule as well as the additon of games to the schedule, this was unexpected and unavoidable. It would be greatly appreciated if there is anyone that can volunteer to help out this Friday night. If so, please contact Wayne Briggs, Tanya Parks or Vickii Mize as soon as possible. Thank you!!!!!

Wayne informed me this evening (Tuesday, April 26) that his dad was moved into a regular room today.  Please keep Bruce & his family in your prayers as he continues to recover.

Mr. Bruce was in a very serious car accident on Tuesday morning. He is currently in the ICU at Baptist Hospital. Please keep Bruce and his family in your prayers that he makes a speedy and undeniable full recovery.

Slight modifications have been made to the Gate/Concession Schedule. I happened to miss that there were some non-Welcome teams playing at the Welcome Athletic Fields. They deserve concessions too! While no team was given any additional dates, some of the schedules were alternated. I will post a revised schedule in the concession stand and have updated the times on the event calendar on this page. June 2nd does not have coverage but whoever would like to volunteer to help me out on that date is certainly welcome! Sorry for any confusion!

PLEASE KEEP JON WHITE AND HIS FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS. HE HAS LOST HIS MOTHER, STEP DAD AND GRANDMOTHER IN A TORNADO IN COLERAIN NC.

Congratulations to the Rookie champions, Churchland Who Dats and to the Major champions, Welcome Crew!  Good job girls & coaches!

Thanks to everyone that helped out this weekend in the concession stand, at the gate & on and around the fields!  It turned out to be a success despite the Saturday school day and the weather & it couldn't have been done without everyone's help.  Thank you to all the teams and especially the parents for their patience while we created the schedule, revised the schedule & then had the postponement, your support is greatly appreciated.  And a special "Great job!" to all the girls that participated for playing thru the cold, rain and heat all in the same weekend!  I am proud of all the girls, they kept going through it all with smiles on their faces showing good sportsmanship all weekend.

Thanks to all again, congratulations to the champs, and good luck to all as we start the season this week!

Please be on the lookout for the Concession/Gate schedule. All teams will be assigned two dates during the season that they will be responsible for gate and concession coverage. It is important that you make sure you have coverage for your times or make arrangements with another team to switch dates. The dates assigned will NOT interfere with your game schedule.
