The Pathways Housing First Program
“Housing is fundamental to survival and meets the basic human needs of refuge and safety, which are primal needs for all of us.”
By providing a person with a home, PHF offers dignity and ignites hope in individuals who have often been treated in an undignified manner and who have felt hopeless for years. The transformation of moving from homelessness into a home of one’s own begins the process of physical and psychological healing and immediately changes a person’s status from an outcast to a valued member of the community. The PHF program effectively ends chronic homelessness by using a fundamentally consumer-directed service approach that supports clients in pursuing their own goals by providing them with housing first.
