We had the BEST time staying at the cottage. It was lovely and so clean. We could have lounged around the fire all day! Very close to town and the mountain was less than 5 minutes. We would love to go back next year!

We simply LOVED this house. It is cozy, clean, plenty big enough, great kitchen, fantastic fireplace, perfect location, and thoughtfully stocked for the guests' convenience (good pots and pans, dish soap, paper towels etc.). We had a lovely Christmas here (the hosts even set up a tree) and we absolutely intend to return, again and again. And the Wilderness Inn next door, just 142 steps away (my son counted), is like having your own cook nearby. Great burgers and steaks and great Manhattans. A bonus on those winter nights you don't feel like cooking yourself!

What a great cabin, all equiped and very confortable. Nothing is missing. The owners are nice and welcoming, and the reservation system is very simple. And what a great location, only some minutes from Whiteface Mountain and so many others! We will be back, for sure.

we needed and then some. Our girls loved the bunk
beds and exploring out back...the brook was a big hit!

A really nice place with everything we needed. We've been to Whiteface Mountain for snowboarding and we really appreciated our week at the cottage. Some people from the north of Quebec drove 20 hours return. Looking foward to return at this place next year!

August 2010 - Our family of 5 kids (2-11) and 1 on the way LOVED our stay at the Brookside Cottage! There aren't many places like this and we were so fortunate to have found this wonderful home away from home! If we can make this an annual (or at least regular) stay, we will. It is close to what you need to get to and far enough from what you want to stay away from. Taking the ride from LP to Wilmington is so wonderful and as we rounded the bend before the turn off to the cottage, the kids would yell, "we're home!" And we were. So relaxing. So warm. So perfect. BPS - My family stayed at Brookside Cottage while we skied nearby at Whiteface in March, 2010. The accommodations were very clean, comfortable and well-suited to our group of seven. I recommend Brookside Cottage as a great place to stay in the Lake Placid area.

We stayed at Brookside Cottage, with our Chocolate Lab, Quinn, the end of September 2009. We found the cottage extremely clean, well furnished and comfortable. The front porch was a perfect place to relax with a glass of wine and munchies after a day of hiking.
Although the cottage offered much more space than we needed as a couple, we would definitely consider returning in the future.
We highly recommend Brookside Cottage to anyone who would enjoy a mountain get away.

We spent the last week of August 2009 at the cottage for our son's wedding. We had a very comfortable stay. If we go up with a large group again, we would pick the Brookside as our place to stay.
