PHOTOGRAPHERS..... Don't forget the WHITMORE BEAUTY PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST. Post your pictures on the bulletin board, no photoshop, 4x6, name and phone number on the back, and judging takes place about 12:00 noon.

The Mountain Fair is looking for SILENT AUCTION DONATIONS from your business or from businesses you frequent down the mountain. Gift certificates of labor from your local business or items or if you have an online business with items can be picked up. If you donate more than $50.00 in value you will be given an ad in the 2012-2013 WHITMORE BUSINESS DIRECTORY. Call Jeri Johnson 472.1471 for futher information. You may pick up donation letters at the post office.

We are a small community of 1000 and have a variety of businesses and activities. Whitmore has Kilarc (the finest fishing around), an elementary school K-8, our very own WHITMORE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY, INC., Community center, library, General store, nurseries, turn around shop, the Way Station, two churches, 4-H, and much much more. Community Food Cupboard May 20th
On Sunday, may 20 1-2p we will helping a few families with our Whitmore Community Food Cupboard @ The Community Center. This is a joint venture between Grace Community Church, The 7th Day Adventist Church and other local Christians. If you need food or know someone who does, please take advantage of this opportunity to be blessed. Also, if you would like to donate food items, or give money to purchase food, you are welcome to do so as well. Please respond to this email with any questions or comments that you might have.
We want to thank those that donated: FRESH PRODUCE, canned goods, frozen meats, breads, and dairy products. Thank you!!

With growing season on the horizon, many of you are getting starts, seeds and shoots going for your vegetable gardens. May it be suggested that in the planning of your garden, you include some space to help others through the Community Cupboard. Where possible, it would be beneficial to coordinate with others who want to be involved in this project to allow for more diversity in what is being grown. Each Wednesday evening, between 5:30-7:00pm, the Sanctuary at the Whitmore Seventh-Day Adventist Church will be open to anyone desiring to spend quite time in personal prayer and meditation. The idea is to provide an atmosphere and an opportunity in the middle of our week which encourages personal, contemplative communion with God. If you or someone you know is hurting and would like someone to pray with you or if you would just like a quite place for personal prayer please join us. This is an open invitation to all within the Whitmore community. Hope to see you there.

The Firecrackers are the "FUNDRAISING" arm of the Whitmore Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. We look forward to meeting new volunteers and sharing ideas for the fundraising efforts.
