The building on the right is one of the houses supplied to the miners and their families while they are working the mines. The house is the only one left out of a small complex. It dates back to the turn of the century.

2012 Lake Michigan Tour update

Hello my fellow motorcycle enthusiast winter has finally hit us and it just makes me want spring to come that much quicker. Dan and I have been working on the details of the Lake Michigan Tour ride and here is what we have hammered out so far. The dates for the ride are June Thur 21-24. The Lake Express leaves Milwaukee at 6:00am (2 1/2 hour journey across) so we will have to meet earlier and ride up. The next time Lake Express crosses is 12:30pm which Dan and I agree is to late. Lake express has not posted the 2012 fairs yet but I don't think it should be to much more then last year. Dan and I have to sit down and get to route down which I will post as soon as it done. 2012 Lake Michigan Tour

Ok boys and girls the summer is winding down and I hope everyone had a great riding season. I don't know how many miles we did this year but the bike turned 55,555 mile in July of which we put on about 22,000 plus since I bought it 4 years ago. Anyways Dan (ka9oil) and I were talking about doing the Lake Michigan tour the the spring. We will start in Cudahy taking the Lake Express Ferry across then making our way north and around the lake and back down home. The reason for going in spring is that the bikes ride free with a paid adult fare(see detail below). The details of the ride will be posted at a later date. If you are interested please let Dan or myself know. You will be responsible for making you own reservations at the motels we stay at. So lets make this ride happen!!!
