Dear Parents,
Another busy week has passed. We took our Division test on Wednesday. Overall, the scores were excellent. You can find the test in the Friday folder. Also in the Friday folder is a quarter slip of paper showing your child's progress with memorizing their multiplication facts. As a former 4th and 5th grade teacher, I can not overemphasize how important it is to learn these facts. There are many other graded papers in the Friday folder. All of these grades have been entered into the gradebook for this nine weeks. The Science test scores were low, but we are starting a new unit next week on heat, so the children will have an opportunity to pull their grade up.
Also in the Friday folder is results from the standardized testing that we took in the fall. Mrs. Farmer wrote a concise explanation on how to view the scores. I will also go over these scores with you when we have our conferences in early February.
Thank you for sending in items for the 100th day of school! The children were able to use the items to discuss benchmark numbers, weight, density, and other information. The children also drew pictures of what they thought they would look like at the age of 100. It was amazing how many girls were not going gray. I guess color in a bottle is a wonderful thing!
Have a great weekend!
