Welcome to the online home of Wine Country Acoustic. Every other year, in connection with the Healdsburg Guitar Festival, I invite some of the world's best acoustic musicians to play a house concert under the stars in Sonoma Wine Country. This year's concert will again be hosted in the private, enclosed courtyard of my Santa Rosa home, affectionately known as "The Lodge at Hidden Hills." Please enjoy the information provided on this site and feel free to contribute! I look forward to meeting you at this year's event! All the best, Mark.
Good Seats Still Available
While the RSVP list is getting near the top, (particularly if we get those tentatives into the confirmed column), we still have room if any of you have some friends who would enjoy the event. Just drop me an email and I'll update the list. Also, thanks to all for your early RSVPs and to those generous friends in the wine industry who are contributing to the beverage selection!
Look's Like Perfect Concert Weather!
I'm taking this week off from work, so have a few extra minutes to provide a quick weather update. Really hot this past weekend and today (currently 96 degrees), but the extended forecast for August 15th is high of 85 / low of 54, with light 10-12 mph winds. As you can tell from the Lodge pictures, the courtyard is enclosed on all sides, so the wind won't bother us, and if it gets a little chilly, we'll fire up the propane heaters. All in all, couldn't ask for a better August forecast!
House Concert on Saturday, August 15th, 2009!
This year's House Concert is scheduled for Saturday, August 15th, 2009, and will include three outstanding solo acoustic guitar players -- Larry Pattis, Steve Wildey and Dorian Michael!
What day is the Concert?
The concert will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009. Please plan to arrive by 6:00 pm, the music starts at 6:30 pm.
Is there a donation required?
We are requesting a $15 per person donation to help compensate the musicians.
How do I RSVP and obtain location information?
Please send your reservation request to me at
mrubash@comcast.net. Once I confirm your reservation, I'll also provide the location address and answer any additional questions you may have.
How many people will attend?
The private courtyard provides a very comfortable space for up to 50 acoustic music fans. We would like to maintain this audience size to make the event as enjoyable as possible for all who attend.
Where should I park?
There is limited parking available at the residence. Once the spaces are full, you'll need to park at the cul de sac at the bottom of the drive and walk up. Its about a 1/4 mile walk that will get your heart pumping. Wear comfortable shoes and feel free to call the house if you need some assistance.
Will food and drinks be provided?
Of course! We will provide a resonable selection of wine, beer, water and coffee, together with assorted snacks. You're also welcome to contribute your own items to the selection.
