SPRING BOOK FAIR! FEBRUARY 27-MARCH 2
Our theme for the Spring Book Fair is Hawaiian Luau!
Luau Family Night is Tuesday February 28th! We will be open until 6:00. Get ready for a great selection of books! Our goal for this fair is to sell $5,800.00 worth of books to receive 5% free books for our school! If you can't make it to our book fair, or we are out of an item, you can order online with no shipping costs. Your order will be sent to our school.

We Recycle Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones, and any empty ink pens and markers!!!!
If you have used ink cartridges, old cell phones, empty ink pens and markes, please send them to school in a baggy. We send them to a recycling company to raise funds for our media center!!!

Save Capri-Sun Pouches!!!!!
Please save your Capri-Sun and Kool-Aid pouches!! We send the pouches to a recycling center and we receive money and the pouches are made into other products. Recycle!!!

Recycling Udate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WJPS students have raised $336.00 by collecting items to recycle! Our goal was $300.00. Please continue to bring in old cell phones, empty ink cartridges, Capri-Sun and Kool-Aid pouches. We are also accepting empty pens, markers, and mechanical pencils. Each class will select a book to purchase for the media center with the money raised and the book will be in honor or their class. Keep up the good work!!!

Welcome to West Jackson Primary School Media Center!
Welcome to West Jackson Primary School Media Center, the hub of information for our school. Mrs. Cariel Lancaster is the media specialist. We look forward to seeing you in the media center this year. Our goal is to provide students and teachers with a rich environment of reading materials and services that will make teaching and learning challenging, interesting, exciting, and successful. Our Accelerated Reader Program is an important part of our school. Students may choose from hundreds of "AR" books to read. After taking a computer test over the book, a student can earn points toward prizes! An AR Hat Party is held each month. This is just one of the many fun things we do to encourage children to read.
Students are encouraged to check out books anytime there is a need. Come and visit our Media Center. Do not be surprised to see the media specialist
