Collaboration, Culture, Creativity, & Community -- principles we hope the Guild will embrace.
To encourage creative development and enrich our community, the Wrentham Cultural Council presents the formation of The Guild which is an on-line cultural Gallery and Directory of individuals and groups in Wrentham who are involved in disciplines that are related to the arts, humanities, and sciences.
It is one of the many ways in which the Council would like to forge a connection between Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM). We hope non-professionals and professionals, youth and adults, who share a passion in these disciplines will participate and find here a network of like-minded individuals and groups in town through which to interact and support.
The Guild provides an opportunity for participants to connect, as well as, exhibit their work and share what inspires them, their work and craft, and perhaps their stories. Overall we are hoping to share and showcase the diversity of talent and knowledge that is available in the Wrentham community.
We hope all culture enthusiasts, Wrentham residents and visitors, who view this page will enjoy it and discover new avenues to explore.
To Participate
If you would like to be included on this page, please e-mail us at wrenthamcuturalcouncil@gmail.com or fill out the electronic form below. Parents/Guardians please print the form, sign it, and mail it to us.
Participants may choose to be included in either the on-line gallery or directory or both.
As the Guild evolves information will either be e-mailed to you or posted in future Wrentham Cultural Council (WCC) Newsletters. Check out our Newsletter posted on this website.
Our email address is wrenthamculturalcouncil@gmail.com and our mailing address is Wrentham Cultural Council, 79 South Street, Wrentham, MA 02093.
More about this project:
Our goals are to
- encourage creative development
- include the Arts as part of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math* and connect individuals and groups interested in these disciplines.
This endeavor is called a Guild to differentiate the on-line Gallery from our Gallery at the Old Fiske Museum and to consolidate and synergize two components of the project -- the on-line Gallery and Directory -- as a revival of the Guild concept via modern technology.
We are anticipating the Guild will be a collaboration of youth and adults, professionals and non-professionals, established and emerging, who would like to on a voluntary basis:
- share their passions by interacting and supporting each other through culture-related activities;
- work together to raise the profile of culture in Wrentham through shared resources, networking, and joint projects;
- support the Cultural Council as they advocate, promote, and provide opportunities to celebrate culture for all Wrentham residents and visitors
You may become a participant by exhibiting in the Gallery or listing information in the Directory. For instance, some Guild participants may want to interact on a social or professional level to share material, intellectual, and creative resources or work on a project together, whereas, other participants may solely enjoy having their work exhibited as part of the on-line Gallery or be listed in the Directory.
*The foundation of STEAM is based upon the use of both sides of the brain where convergent and divergent thinking are able to occur. http://steammanifesto.com. STEAM = Science, Technology, Engineering "Arts" and Math -- the inclusion of "Arts" with STEM. For more information http://www.npr.org/series/4111499/where-science-meets-art.
