NOT!!!!!!!!! but I love it..... By the way I have gaind some weight, can't tell'ya how much but my family is sooooo good to me I get to eat treats when I do good, and when I do nothing, can't beet that! Tammy, THANK YOU SOOOOOOO much for all you did for us. I'm glad I'm here.....
Coco came from a litter that had been attacked - and some pups killed by a pitbull. They were starving, STARVING and pitiful when they arrived. We had never seen pups so sad. Coco's pictures should be up, and you can read about how she is doing now:
<i>Hi Lucy,
So Coco is now 7 months old and doing well. She has graduated puppy kindergarten, gotten doggy lessons from the three adult labs in CT for a month and is on her way to doing well. She has made herself a happy home and is the master of getting into trouble. She plays with other doggys at a greyhound rescue that does doggy daycare for all types of dogs and has a ton of fun a couple days a week. She had her first swim in the lake in the middle of May, and she was funnier than get out! I have attached some pictures to show you her now and how well she is doing. Thanks for allowing me to adopt her, she has def. kept me on my feet.

This is an email we recieved from some happy new Chihuhua parents. Lucy was a registered chihuhua, with a complete vet record and papers, and only 5 months old. Her owners decided they could not keep her anymore, and so she arrived at the shelter looking for a new home. Please remember it is possible to find small breed dogs, pure bred dogs, and housetrained dogs like Lucy in shelters.
Lucy Puppy, Larry and I wanted you to know that we are all in love with each other!!! She is the best little pup ever and so full of herself! She is potty-pad trained and uses the potty outside too. Such a good girl! On the first night she was a little restless trying to figure out how to be in our bed with us but on the second night she just settled right down and we all slept tight. We took her to our/her vet yesterday to get her started as their patient. They said she was perfectly healthy, well-cared for and was so glad that our hearts had found another four-legged lovebug. They were all so sad when our little Sophie died last year. So, all is well here and we will stay in touch.

Then a little later in the Month came the news that they had become another "foster fatality" - They were in Love! Here is their second update on how our Gideon is doing, and how he found his forever home.
From Wynne's (aka Chunky's) Adoptive Dad Jebb. He adopted her as a little puppy and now she lives the good life in NY. She is HUGE now and even though he writes letters like these to his pets, we know he loves them.
Dear Dogs and Cats:
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Racing me to the bottom is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king sized bed. I am very sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort, however. Dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep. It is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximize space is nothing but sarcasm.
For the last time, there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.
The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough.
Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door:
TO ALL NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS:
(1) They live here. You don't. (2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur'-niture. (3) I like my pets a lot better than I like most people. (4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons/daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.
Remember, dogs and cats are better than kids because they (1) eat less, (2) don't ask for money all the time, (3) are easier to train, (4) normally come when called, (5) never ask to drive the car, (6) don't hang out with drug-using people; (7) don't smoke or drink, (8) don't want to wear your clothes, (9) don't have to buy the latest fashions, (10) don't need a gazillion dollars for college and (11) if they get pregnant, you can sell their children.
Chex was born at the shelter via C-section to a little pregnant dog named Bubbles. We worked so hard to save her! She was adopted, but her family moved and could not keep her. We took her back. Finally, after about a month some people walked in the door and promised her "FOREVER". She is living the good life and they love her - Here is the update they sent over christmas 2009!
"Hey everyone, these are some photos of Summer. We absolutely love her she has now had her first Christmas and got a pretty pink sweater and a bone. She has kept us so much company.
Sincerely
Caleb, Casey, and Summer "
We received this letter from one of our dogs - we rescued from the city kennels about a year ago. Now she is living the good life in the NY! She writes to us with her Dad's help from time to time - here is her latest letter:
Hi! It’s me! Sadie! Or Kiara…whatever.
When you told me I was going north to find a Forever Home, did you forget to tell me a few things?
You said that the people who brought me north would take good care of me…and they did.
You said that the rescue group in Albany, NY would work really hard to find me a Forever Home. And they did!! I have a wonderful home and am very much loved!
Lately, I’ve figured out that there is a bit of difference between Arkansas and New York, especially when Winter comes. As it is, I never liked rain so much, but this is something else.
HEY! Didn’t you know that it SNOWS up here??
The first time that it snowed, it was OK; there was just a little white dusting on the deck & patio, and Mom walked me down to the patio, so I wouldn’t be afraid. Honey was already running in the yard, so I did, too. When I asked Dad what made snow, he said that when it was cold and it rained, the rain turned into snow. Great! Snow is COLD on puppy-paws!
The other morning, when I got up, there was 7+ inches of that white stuff all over EVERYTHING! No way was I going off the deck into that stuff! But, there WERE squirrels around Mom’s bird feeder, and they needed to be moved, so I was brave and ran off into the snow and chased them away!
It was up past my paws by a few inches and it was COLD! But, it was also neat to see my paw-prints in the snow wherever I ran, or where Honey ran, too. Then, I stopped to ‘make a puddle’ (as Mom says), and squatting was a real SURPRISE!!
Fortunately, I don’t have to stay out in the snow too long, because Dad is ‘retired’ (whatever that means): he’s home a lot and lets Honey & me in whenever we’re outside and want to come in.
I’m adjusting to the Yankee climate just fine, BUT you might want to tell other little dogs that New York AIN’T Arkansas, and they ought to pack a nice blanket or two, just in case.
You also didn’t mention anything about Christmas trees…and that persons hang things on these trees…and that little dogs should NOT chew on them! I found some things on Mom’s Christmas tree that looked like they were put there just for little dogs to play with and chew on.
Boy! Was I WRONG! Mom got REALLY upset when I sort of nibbled on/destroyed some of the softer ones…and some of the not-so-soft ones as well. She said that “it’s a good thing you’re so cute” thing again!
Mom mentioned that Santa Claus (Dad said that he brings presents on Christmas Day) only comes to visit GOOD little dogs…and she looked right at ME when she said that! Must be she’s still annoyed about the tree-ornament thing….
Dad wants to check his e-mail (?) so I gotta go. Say Hi to every one!
Merry Christmas! And thanks again for sending me North to find my Forever Home!
Sadie (Kiara)
