wish we were back
With as few words as possible I will describe our trip.
we laughed, we cried, we came home.
ok kidding,
-traveled there a 3:30 in the a.m.
-stayed in Santo Domingo the first night.. with people we didn't know, but would know very well soon
-ate a 20 dollar meal, knew about one thing that was offered (agua)
-didn't get sick from drinking the agua... yet
-drove on a bus to Barahona for 3 hours, somehow didn't get in a crash
-arrived at ponte vedra our que chevere hotel
-drank a mysterious drink
-enjoyed a mysterious meal
-established that if plantains didn't exist, it would be ok
-broke up into work groups
-construction-- played with kids, oh I mean worked really hard and built a wall
-microbusiness-- helped locals learn a thing or two about their economy
-english-- taught the kids some slang
-agriculture-- planted bananas and cleared a field
-discipleship-- laid down the law.. hehe
-medical-- did as best they could with the supplies they had (bandaids and vitamins)
-enjoyed the beach and clif we got to live on for the week
-made friends with our roommates (lizards and spiders)
-had awesome worship at nights
-craved Americana food together
-played puno
-made amazing friends
-put our lives into perspective
-caught a tan
-avoided malaria
-made unforgettable memories
thanks everyone for making our trip so perfect. I don't think a better group of people could have been picked. I'm so glad I got to really know each of you and be able to see God working through everyone!
