Alex Goes to Dog Show- Wins 3 Ribbons!
We took Alex to a dog show recently just to have some fun, and to meet with other Coton breeders to socialize and "talk about Cotons." We met some very nice people who love Cotons just as we do....people who have become our friends. We encourage you to join the USACTC breed club, even if you aren't interested in breeding. The club will send you a magazine it publishes about the Coton breed that is informative, helpful, and fun.
Animal Planet Show on Cotons Postponed (for now)
The segment of Animal Planet's "Dogs 101" regarding the Coton breed has been postponed for now. However, we are hopeful that it will be shown in the future.
Alexander to Be on Animal Planet Television Show!!!!!
We have been keeping Alexander until late June for the Virklers. Katie and I really, really love this guy....he is one of the best socialized pups we have ever had, and we have grown very attached to him. He is a handsome boy....so much fun......so full of life......the type of dog that adds an extra dose of enjoyment to your life. Anyway, he has been invited to be on the Animal Planet TV show soon......for a segment on Cotons. We will post the dates the show will air. What an honor!
Time to Say "Goodbye"-Week 10
Well, I guess all good things have to come to an end.......at least for us.......because the pups are now old enough to go to their new homes. We go through lots of emotions when they are adopted........On the one hand we are very excited....having met their new families..........and knowing that our pup will be really happy.........On the other hand it can be really sad, especially the next day when we are really missing our pup! Our hope is that our new owners will keep in touch with us and occasionally send us photos of the pups as they grow older (hint...hint!)
It helps to know that these pups will touch the hearts of their new families, the same way they have touched our hearts!
Pups Are All Smiles At Nine Weeks!
Well, we went to take some pictures today and wouldn't you know it the pups were all smiles!
This gave us a good feeling since at nine weeks of age the pups are now about ready to go to their new homes. Of course we aren't in any rush to let them go! We will really miss them!
At this age Coton pups are especially fun to be around.......lots of smiles...lots of cuddling......... As much as we shall miss them, they are really ready to bond with their new owners. We want to keep in touch with everyone, and exchange pictures, stories, and Coton information!
How Sweet It Is!-Angelica's Pups About 8 Weeks Old
Angelica's pups are now puppies in the best sense.........fun to hold, ......fun to snuggle with.....and fun to watch...especially when you give them toys to play with. They really love to follow us whenever they can! They are very adventurous and love to wander off on their own. I am glad to say these guys and girls love people, and I am quite sure they are ready to love and bond with you and your family! It won't be long now!
Hope everyone is getting their necessary supplies and reading up on puppy care. We will provide you with puppy toys, a blanket with the smell of the pup's mom and littermates, some treats, some IAMS dogfood (to get you started), a collar, some potty pads, vet records, and a small bag with pictures of your pup. We love our pups and want them and you to be happy for many years. We want you to call or e mail us with any questions you might have that will make things easier for you. Follow up support is part of our responsibility to you and your pup!
Life Is Fun at Seven Weeks!
Angelica's pups are so much fun at this age (seven weeks of age). They are very adventurous and full of life. So much fun to be around! They especially like to come to us and follow us around. They enjoy toys and playing with us. And of course we sure do enjoy playing with them.
Last week the pups made a visit to the vet. They received their first vaccination shots, and were dewormed. All went well....everyone is healthy!
Angelica's Pups at Six Weeks Old!
Yes indeed, Angelica's pups are almost six weeks old! Time sure does go fast! This past weekend,
the pups were really up and about. We had a number of visitors and you guessed it..........for some reason everyone wanted to see and play with the pups! This is a really fun time to be around the pups.....they truly enjoy the attention they get from us big folks, and Angelica seems to enjoy showing them off!...and taking a bit of a break........you know those motherly duties can be exhausting! Dad Simba seemed to enjoy checking out his children too. You can barely recognize him as he just got a new spring haircut! We did a onetruemedia slideshow/video we are calling, "the Puppy Celebration." Check it out!
Pups Love to Play!-March 8, 2009
Hello everyone! Angelica's pups are now so full of life. They love to play and move around.
They are now very used to human touch and smell, and are generally comfortable when Katie or myself pick them up.We are doing our best to get the pups well socialized, and comfortable with humans. No problems with this bunch! They are sooooo much fun. We love spending time with them, and know you will too!
Curiousity Reigns
Angelica's pups are now up and about on a daily basis-very curious about the world, and listening attentively to the sounds and noises around them!Sometimes we hear them make little "barks" to let us know who they are. When they tire out, they seem to enjoy lying on their backs and having their tummies rubbed. They also love to play follow the leader (see today's pictures) around their playpen.
New Pictures-Day 12
Take a look at the pictures below dated 2009-02-19. You can see how much the pups have grown in the last week, and how much their coloring is coming in. Mom looks like she could use a break. I think I'll go find her some ice cream!
Happy Valentine's Day!
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! It is now day 11 for our new pups and they are doing very well. Yesterday two of the pups (the tricolored boys) opened their eyes for the first time. Welcome to our world!
At our house we really enjoy Valentine's Day. Fun times with family, friends, and Cotons. This year our daughter Kym made cookies, and a cake to celebrate the occasion. Of course, we had to have a party with Angelica and her pups as well. (see the pictures-below right).
Hello World-Day 5!
We are alive and well! Pups are now moving around more, and looking healthier and full of color. Their weights now vary from 8-10.2 ounces. As you can see by the pictures above, the pups are already the "apple of the eye" of Katie, our friend Annette, and Aunt Sue. Below (Bottom right) you can see that our friend Anne has also become smitten with a pup!
Puppies Progress Day 2-3
Angelica is quite a good mom. She is very attentive to her pups by feeding them, and cleaning them on a regular basis. The pups weigh between 6 and 7.5 ounces. She loves her pups, and carefully attends to them.........
Puppies Progress Day 4-5..........
Angelica and her pups are doing great and are thriving. The pups are gaining weight and feeding beautifully. Angelica is a wonderful mother and is so tender with her pups. She loves for friends to come and admire her little family and just smiles and shows them off to us!!
