What does membership to the FES PTA mean?
Membership to the Franklinton Elementary School Parent Teacher Association means you are a part of the organization focused on improving resources available to all children at FES. The level of involvement is completely up to you, but we would love to have your input and participation to make our events and projects a sucess.
What is the purpose of the FES PTA?
- To promote and enhance the education of Franklinton Elementary School students, and to extend and enrich the learning opportunities of all FES students
- To promote open communication and cooperation between FES administration and staff, parents, and the community
- To provide volunteer assistance to teachers and other staff members to augment the education and experiences at FES and to increase the community awareness of its students
- To raise funds in support of the above objectives
Do I have to volunteer if I am a PTA member?
You do not have to volunteer, but participation in PTA events is fun and gives you an opportunity to be with your child and learn more about your school.
How are the PTA dues used?
Your $5 PTA Dues are broken down approximately as follows:
$1 goes to the NC State PTA
$2 goes to the National PTA
$2 goes to FES Student programs
Membership dues in the State and National PTA's go toward higher level child advocacy programs.
How often does the PTA meet?
The first Tuesday of every month. Special committees will meet as needed for special projects.
How does the PTA raise money?
Various fundraisers throughout the year are coordinated through the PTA such as the Fall and Spring Festivals, concessions during events, etc. Please review the "Your Money" tab for more information on upcoming Fundraisers.
What type of things does the PTA do with the money raised?
Fall Festival
Purchase books for every student
Assistance with field trips
New sound system for the Gym
New music equipment
Teacher appreciation events
Playground improvement
Spring Festival

Do I have to attend PTA meetings?
We would love to you have at every meeting, but we also understand that you are very busy with your family and work. If you are unable to attend, but would like to contribute, please email us at yourfespta@yahoo.com with your ideas or suggestions. This would be a great help as we work to improve our school.
Why are we using Shutterfly for our schools PTA website? Does this cost us?
There are a few reasons for using this site:
- This is a free site. We do not need to pay for the web address.
- It is an easy to use format that both FES employees and non-employee PTA board members can have access to update.
- Shutterfly is a member of the boxtops4education program! While there are no purchases required, using this site is a great way to promote a supporter of education programs!!!
