Al final el resumen de los 19 meses se quedo sin escribir porque volvi a coger una sinusitis que me dejo sin energia durante 3 semanas. Asi que la lista de las palabras que Zayn dice con signos ha crecido muchisimo. Esta es la primera lista que hicimos, cuando tenia 18 meses y medio:
luz (sol), comer, dormir, banyo, lavarse los dientes, panyal, mas, ya esta, adios, leer (libro), lluvia (nieve), reloj, flor, zapatos, avion. Animales: perro, gato, vaca, jirafa, mono, pajaro, elefante, pez, leon-tigre-oso (estos tres son lo mismo de momento porque los 3 rugen :), pinguino. En aquel momento estaba aprendiendo estos signos: frio, caliente, danyo, casa, coche, cocodrilo, bebe, pelota. Ahora ya sabe estos y muchos mas: caballo, pato, orangutan, oveja, cerdito, leche, uno (para pedir uno mas), llaves, donde esta?, ayuda, gracias ... La primera frase que hizo fue con 18 meses o asi, dirijida a mis companyeras de trabajo que ya se marcharban despues de una fiesta en casa: adios, me voy a banyar y a dormir (una manera muy sutil de echarlas :). Ahora ya hace muchas mas frases, sobretodo con "donde esta?". Le encanta preguntar: el gato, donde esta? y luego se responde a si mismo que se ha ido a dormir (es un amor, se nos cae la baba cuando vemos como piensa!). Tambien usa "donde esta?" para hacer bromas, tiene un sentido del humor muy desarrollado, para ser tan pequenyito. Por ejemplo, le da la vuelta a una pieza de puzle que es una vaca y entonces te pregunta, donde esta la vaca? entonces pone una cara de decir no se, no se (y encoge los hombros) y luego finalmente le da la vuelta a la pieza del puzle y se muere de risa!

Ademas de los gestos, tambien dice palabras: mama, papa, mas (o more, segun con quien hable), agua (o guagua), no, ha (en lugar de si o yes), sit, hot, keys, juice (estas son mas faciles en ingles), globo (bobo), leloj (reloj). Y repite muy bien "zumo de naranja" (anja), y el color lila (li-la), pero aun no se entera mucho de los colores. Tambien cuenta dos y tres, pero sin saber muy bien que significa.

Y ya por ultimo, se sabe muchas partes del cuerpo y le encanta mostrar que se las sabe: ojos, nariz, orejas, boca, dientes, manos, pies, rodillas, pelo, cabeza. Y ultimamente ha aprendido cuello. Y le encanta hacer cosquillas en el cuello (y que le hagan a el tambien, claro).

A parte de los avances linguisticos, sigue siendo un torbellino explorador. Ya sube y baja las escaleras bastante bien, sobretodo si tiene a donde agarrarse (y si no te pide la mano). Le sigue encantando jugar con el agua y tambien con la arena (pero menos). La novedad ahora es subirse en las sillas y en las escaleras para llegar a mas sitios, asi que tenemos que andar con mil ojos, porque ahora alcanza a todo! Sigue comiendo bastante bien (segun la guarderia, muy bien) aunque hay cosas que no le gustan y antes le encantaban, como las lentejas. Le encanta la leche y el zumo y todo tipo de frutas, sobretodo las uvas y las frambuesas. Sigue teniendo solo 5 dientes, pero segun la pediatra no es problema, si han salido 5 tambien saldra el resto antes o despues.

Ha empezado a entender que hay un bebe en la barriga de mama y a veces viene y abraza la barriga. Tenemos muchas ganas de ver como reacciona cuando nazca el bebe. Es un ninyo tan dulce y sociable, pero nunca se sabe. Ya os informaremos :)

Una ultima historia para demostrar lo lindo que es. El otro dia fuimos a un restaurante con Jonathan y Maika. Zayn estaba sentado al lado de Maika y empezo a robarle patatas fritas del plato para mojarlas en salsa (le encanta!). Maika se las dejaba coger y el se las iba comiendo tan feliz. Al final quedaban ya pocas y entonces Naeem decidio darle una de las suyas (yo no tenia patatas). Entonces Zayn cogio la patata que Maika le habia dado, se la devolvio, le dijo gracias, y entonces cogio la patata de Naeem y se la comio tan feliz. De alguna manera sabia que tenia que coger primero la que le ofrecia su padre, o igual penso que Maika ya le habia dado muchas y mejor se comia ella las ultimas, quien sabe! Pero la verdad es que nos sorprendio muchisimo que le diera las gracias, porque es una cosa que justo acaba de aprender. Asi que nos quedamos bien orgullosos de nuestro ninyito, tan listo y educado!!! (almenos esta vez :)

Pues si, Zayn paso de ser un bebito a ser un ninyito en cuanto cumplio un anyo. Dio sus primeros pasitos a los doce meses y medio, y desde entonces no ha parado de caminar, de abrir cajones, armarios, de transportar cosas de un sitio para otro, de corretear de habitacion en habitacion,... Esta en movimiento constante, descubriendo el mundo a cada segundo. Es muy divertido verle tan atareado y tan feliz! Nos reimos porque ya no podemos dejar las botellas (de plastico) y cartones para el reciclaje al lado de la puerta porque a Zayn le encanta cogerlas una por una y pasearlas por toda la casa. Otra de sus actividades preferidas es ayudarnos a vaciar el lavavajillas. En las fotos le podeis ver con la cestita del lavavajillas correteando por ahi. Y otra novedad es que por fin le gustan los cuentos! hasta ahora no parecia muy interesado, a pesar de nuestros esfuerzos por leerle cada noche, pero ahora ya le gustan mucho y es el mismo quien los busca para ojearlos. Sus cuentos preferidos son el de los perritos y el de la granja de los animales con sonido.

 

Otra  novedad de este ultimo mes es que ha descubierto la luna. Al principio solo se interesaba en un arbol muy grande que hay en el jardin, el cual veia cada vez que saliamos del coche al llegar a casa. Pero un dia descubrio que detras del arbol estaba la luna, y se quedo alucinado. No dejaba de senyalar con el dedito. El otro dia en el coche la vio por la ventana y la seguia buscando todo el camino. Asi que se la ensenyamos todas las noches (cuando no hay nubes, claro...). Es una gozada verle descubrir el mundo!

 

Que mas? pues el viaje a Espanya en Navidad fue una gozada, a pesar de las enfermedades varias :)  Zayn, Pablo y Maria se lo pasaron genial juntos y nosotros mas, de verlos juntos tan felices. Hicimos un monton de cosas, entre ellas ir a Serradevall y a Nuria, y celebrar los Reyes Magos. Zayn se adapto muy bien a todo y aunque perdio bastante peso por culpa de un virus intestinal, al regreso lo recupero rapidamente. Y es que le encanta comer!!! Se come todo lo que le des y eso que solo tiene dos dientecitos (todavia!). A veces se cansa de algo y ya no lo quiere, pero en general se lo come todo tan felizmente. Le encanta comer solito y usar la cuchara, lo cual es un peligro, porque acaba habiendo comida por todas partes (menos mal que nos hemos comprado una super fregona con vapor!!!).

 

Lo que no es tan maravilloso son las noches. Tuvo una epoca de despertarse muchisimo para mamar, justo despues del viaje. Yo creo que fueron tantos cambios, entre el viaje, estar enfermos, jet lag y encima cambio de guarderia. A pesar de despertarse tanto dormiamos bien porque le daba el pecho en la cama y nos quedabamos dormidos los dos. Pero ahora hemos empezado a romper la asociacion mamar-dormir, porque en la guarderia no hay manera de que duerma la siesta. Asi que mama un poquito pero luego intenta dormirse el  solito. Da veinte mil vueltas en la cama, pero al final lo consigue. Si!!! almenos lo ha conseguido ya tres dias, asi que esperemos que dure. Pero lo de las siestas aun lo lleva mal, y es que nunca ha sido de hacer siestas largas. Asi que ya veremos. Esperemos que el aprender a dormirse solito tambien le ayude para dormir la siesta. Y lo bueno es que se despierta mucho menos por la noche para mamar, que bien!

 

Bueno, pues este es el resumen de los dos ultimos meses. Ah, lo que no he dicho es que en la nueva guarderia se lo pasa genial. A pesar de hacer una siesta muy cortita, esta todo el tiempo feliz, correteando de un sitio para otro y contento de estar con otros ninyos. La transicion de hecho fue super facil. Y es que es un sitio muy chulo, a nosotros nos gusta tanto como a el. Solo esperamos que el tema siesta se solucione prontito. Ya os contare en un mes o asi.  

En el ultimo mes Zayn ha crecido mucho. No tanto de alto, que tambien, si no de todas las cosas nuevas que ha aprendido a hacer. Ahora pesa 9.6 Kg y mide 73.9cm. Y casi ya anda! De repente empezo a ponerse de pie y a querer caminar cogido de la mano. Pensabamos que no gatearia, porque no gateo en todos estos meses, pero al mismo tiempo que empezo a caminar con ayuda descubrio que podia "gatear" sentado en el suelo, impulsandose solo con una pierna y las manos. No es que pueda ir muy rapido, pero consigue desplazarse bastante :) De todas maneras sigue prefiriendo caminar cogido de la mano. Su equilibrio ya es mucho mejor, asi que estamos esperando a que se suelte en cualquier momento.

 

Cuando sus abuelos estaban aqui le ensenyaron un monton de monerias, entre ellas a decir que tiene un anyito con el dedo. Tambien ha aprendido a hacer el signo de "mas" con las manos, y le estamos ensenyando otros signos. Sigue teniendo mucha destreza con las manos y ya casi consigue dibujar con un plastidecor (mas bien aporrea el plastidecor contra el papel, pero bueno :).

 

Y tambien sigue comiendo muy bien, aunque aun no le ha salido ni un diente!!! Hemos descubierto que yo no tuve el primer diente hasta el anyo, asi que como es hereditario, pues esperamos que el primer diente aparezca de un momento a otro. Pero a pesar de no tener dientes le encanta comer trocitos. Ahora ya le damos mucha comida a trozos pequenyos y le encanta comersela mientras nosotros comemos. De momento le gusta todo, que suerte!!

Pues si, ya ha pasado un anyo! increible! Zayn sigue siendo un bebe preciosete y contento y nosotros los padres mas felices del mundo! Tuvo una fiesta de cumpleanyos con muchos amiguitos y estuvo muy feliz todo el tiempo, especialmente cuando descubrio que podia meter los dedos en la crema del pastel (que era un dragoncete, como tenia que ser :). Luego al dia siguiente (el dia de su cumple) tuvo otra fiestecita, esta vez solo con sus papas, sus abuelos y sus tios y primos de Seattle. Y tambien se lo paso muy bien. Naeem y yo le regalamos un mural pintado en la pared de su habitacion. Naeem decidio los animales (algunos :) ) y yo los pinte. Me llevo un anyo acabarlo, pero por fin lo termine a tiempo para su cumple. Ahora Zayn lo disfruta un monton, especialmente a la hora de irse a dormir, cuando le decimos buenas noches a todos los animales. Su animal preferido son los monos, se rie cada vez que los ve. Le hemos ensenyado donde esta la boca y cuando senyalamos la boca de los monos el nos coge el dedo y se lo lleva a su boca. Es un amor! Tambien le encanta tocar el ombligo del mono (tiene pasion por los ombligos!! :) Mas sobre Zayn al final de la pagina :)

It has been a year, unbelievable! Zayn is still an adorable happy boy and we are the happiest parents on earth! He had a b-day party with many little friends and he was happy all the time, specially when he discovered that he could put his fingers in the cake's frosting (which was a dragon, of course! :). The next day (his b-day day) he had another little party with his grandpas and aunt, uncle and cousins in Seattle. And he enjoyed it a lot too. Our gift for Zayn was a mural painted in his room's bedroom. Naeem decided the animals (some :) and I painted them. It took me a year, but finally it was done for his first birthday. Now Zayn enjoys it a lot, especially at the time to go to bed, when we say good night to all the animals. His favorite animal are the monkeys, he laughs every time he sees them. We showed him where the mouth is and when we point to the monkey's mouth he grasps our finger and take it to his mouth. It's so cute! He also loves to touch the monkey's belly button (he loves belly buttons!! :) More about Zayn at the bottom of the page :)

No nos podemos creer que ya estemos a punto de celebrar el cumpleanyos de Zayn. Los tres ultimos meses han pasado volando!!! Los abuelos Miguel y Lola llegaron a finales de Agosto y esta siendo una gozada compartir todo este tiempo con ellos. Zayn les adora! Durante estos tres meses no ha ido a la guarderia y ha tenido la suerte de estar en casita con sus abuelos todo el tiempo. Seguro que ha aprendido mucho mas espanyol del que ya sabia :) y ademas ha aprendido muchisimas canciones nuevas que le canta su abuela. Y con su abuelo ha aprendido a estar de pie y a dar pasitos cogido de la mano. Durante este tiempo ha perfeccionado su habilidad con los deditos y es increible verle coger cositas con tanta precision. Le encanta meter el dedo indice en todos los agujeritos que encuentra, incluido el ombligo de su mama. Y lo que mas le gusta es tocar las maracas. La mayoria de las noches nos ameniza las cenas tocando las maracas y haciendo que cantemos y demos palmas al ritmo. Le encanta estar rodeado de gente y sigue siendo un bebe de lo mas sociable.

 

Sigue comiendo muy bien, todo le gusta, especialmente el yogur y los cheerios. Le encanta comer cheerios en la mesa, mientras nosotros cenamos. Los coge con los deditos y se los zampa de lo mas feliz. Es un encanto! La novedad de hace un par de dias es que aprendio a tirar besitos. Lo hizo solo tres veces, pero fueron tres muuuuuuuuach clarisimos que hicieron a su mama la mas feliz del mundo! Ahora estamos intentado que lo repita, pero de momento no parece interesado en demostrarnos su afecto de esa manera :) prefiere darnos abrazos muy fuertes y muchas sonrisas. Todavia no tiene ningun diente, asi que tiene una sonrisa desdentada de bebe preciosisima!

 

 

We can't believe Zayn is about to turn one. The last 3 months have gone really quickly! Grandpas Miguel y Lola arrived at the end of August and it's being a joy to share all this time with them. Zayn adores them! During these 3 months he hasn't gone to daycare and he is been so lucky that he has stayed home with grandpas all the time! He's learnt much more Spanish than he already knew :) and he's learnt many new songs from her grandma. With his grandpa he's learnt how to stand up and give little steps holding his hand. During all this time he has perfected his finger grasp and his precision to grasp things is amazing. He loves to stick his finger in all the holes he finds, including his mama's belly button. What he enjoys the most are his maracas. Most nights he entertains our dinner playing maracas and making us sing and clap to his rythm. He loves to be around people and he is still a very sociable baby.

 

He is still eating very well, he likes everything specially yogurt and cheerios. He loves to eat cheerios at the table,while we have dinner. He grabs them with his fingers and eats them so happily! It's so cute! His new milestone is to blow kisses. He has done it just a few times, but they were very clear muuuuuuuuuuuach that made his mom the happiest of the whole world! Now we are trying for him to repeat it, but he doesn't seem interested in showing his love that way :) he prefers to give big hugs and big smiles. He still doesn't have a single tooth, so he has the most beautiful toothless baby smile!

Hola!

No nos podemos creer que ya haya pasado casi un anyo! Pero cuando miramos a Zayn nos damos cuenta de que ya no es el bebe que era, es un ninyito!!! Ha crecido muchisimo y es una gozada verlo tan sano y tan alegre. En esta nueva version de su pagina web encontrareis las fotitos de Halloween, que incluyen su primer trick-or-treating en el mall con sus abuelos y la fiesta en casa con sus amiguitos (tambien sus amiguitos fantasmas:). Tambien hay fotos de nuestra excursion a la granja de calabazas, en un precioso dia de sol en Seattle. Prestad atencion a esas fotos porque esa fue la primera vez que Zayn se aguanto de pie solito, agarrado a la valla de la granja de alpacas!

We can't believe it has been almost a year! But when we look at Zayn we realize that he is not the baby he was, he is a little boy! He grew up a lot and it's a joy to see him so healthy and happy. In this update of his web you'll find Halloween pics, which include his first trick-or-treating in the mall with his grandpas and a party at home with his friends (also his ghosts friends :). There are also pics of our excursion to the pumpkin patch, in a lovely northwest sunny day. Pay attention to those pics, because that was the first time that Zayn stood up by himself, holding on the fence of the alpaca farm.

Han pasado un monton de cosas desde la ultima vez que escribimos, asi que aqui va un pequenyo resumen:

Zayn y yo fuimos a Espanya en Abril y nos lo pasamos genial con todos los amigos y familia. Por desgracia, Naeem no puedo venir, pero tenemos un billete de avion para usar, lo cual es una excusa perfecta para regresar :) Fuimos a Almeria, Cordoba y Barcelona. Zayn se porto genial en el avion (sonriendo a todo el mundo desde el baby bjorn) y en el coche (durmiendo casi todo el rato). Disfruto un monton de toda la gente de Espanya, es un ninyo tan sociable! le encanto que le cogieran todo el rato y todas las sonrisas, abrazos y besitos que le daban! Se lo paso especialmente bien con Pablo y Maria y ellos con Zayn tambien. Les encantaba hablarle y acariciarle y se quedaban fascinados con sus sonidos y movimientos. En Espanya le dimos un biberon por primera vez, en preparacion para la "guarderia" y se lo tomo entero. Y luego cuando regresamos, Naeem le dio el segundo biberon de su vida y tambien se lo tomo entero. Asi que fue un alivio saber que no se moriria de hambre si no tenia una teta cerca :) Asi que, despues de 10 de nuestro regreso, a mediados de mayo, empezo la guarderia. No es exactamente guarderia, es lo que aqui llaman cuidado en casa o en familia. El va a la casa de una senyora, Roni, que cuida de Zayn y de dos ninyos mas de dos anyos. Asi que es perfecto porque ella es muy tierna y carinyosa y esta mucho por el. Durante el mes de Junio esta yendo a otra casa porque Roni se ha ido de vacaciones, pero Zayn tambien esta muy feliz alli porque hay dos senyoras que tambien lo cogen mucho en brazos y le sonrien mucho, y el les devuelve la sonrisa, por supuesto, es un circulo vicioso :)

 

Que mas? solo una lista cortita de sus nuevos avances:

-sentarse: ya aguanta la cabeza muy bien. Ss sienta mucho ratito en el bumbo y en la trona que se llama svan y que es chulisima (ver fotos :) Gracias a su abuela Jeri que se la ha regalado (por cierto, le encantan los besitos de su abuela Jeri!)

- ya que hablamos de abuelos: reconoce a los abuelos Miguel y Lola en la webcam y sonrie cuando oye sus voces

- come papillas: el platano es su fruta preferida, pero tambien le gusta las peras, manzanas, mango, calabacin y boniato (el boniato ha sido la comida nueva de hoy). Tiene un cacharrito de plastico con una malla de tela donde se mete la fruta para que la chupe (ver foto) y le ponemos mango dentro y le encanta!!!

-le encanta jugar al escondite (nos tapamos o le tapamos la cabeza con un trapo y se muere de la risa), los espejos y las cosquillas: aunque este agotado, estas cosas siempre le hacen feliz

-darse la vuelta: esta es una habilidad dificil para el, porque no le gusta estar boca abajo. Pero como no le gusta, pues esta mejorando el girarse para ponerse de espaldas. Lo contrario solo ha pasado una vez en su vida :) Una cosa divertida que si que hace es girar en circulos moviendo los pies y girando alrededor de la cabeza (como las aspas de un molino, pobrecito! asi que desplazarse, no se desplaza mucho :)

-hacer siestas!!! finalmente!!! no siestas de gato, como dicen aqui, sino siestas normales de una o dos horas. Por la noche se despierta mas, por eso, creemos que es para practicar todas estas nuevas habilidades :) Pero mama y se vuelve a dormir sin ningun problema.

 

Y muchas otras cosas increibles como decir papapapa (ya llama a su papi :), descubrir sus pies, o aprender a hacer caca solida :) que talentoso!! todo un mundo de alegria para el y para nosotros!

Many things happened since last time we wrote, so here is goes a tiny summary:

Zayn and I went to Spain in April and we had a great time with all the friends and family there. Unfortunately Naeem couldn't come, but we have a plane ticket to use in the future, which is a great excuse to come back :) We went to Almeria, Cordoba and Barcelona. Zayn did great in the plane (smiling at everybody from his baby bjorn) and in the car (sleeping most of the time). He loved all the people in Spain, he is such a sociable boy! he really enjoyed being held most of the time and all those smiles and hugs and kisses! He specially enjoyed Pablo and Maria and they had a great time with him too! They loved to talk to him and were very entertained with his little sounds and movements. In Spain he tried a bottle for first time in his life, in preparation for daycare, and he drank it all! After we came back Naeem gave him the second bottle of his life, and he also drank it! so it was very good to know that he wouldn't starve without a boob around :) So, 10 days after we got back, by the middle of May, he started daycare with Roni.  This is a small home family care, only two two-years old and him. Roni is very sweet and caring with him and he loves her. During the month of June he is in a different home because Roni went on vacation, but he loves these two women too, because they hold him a lot and smile at him all the time (and he smiles back, of course, it's a vicious circle :)

 

What else? just a brief list of his new achievements:

-sitting: he holds his head very well now. He sits a lot in the bumbo and in his svan high-chair, which is really cool (see pics :) Thanks to grandma Jeri that got it for us (BTW, he loves to get kisses from grandma Jeri!)

-since we are talking about grandpas: he recognizes abuelos Miguel y Lola in the webcam and smiles when he hears his voices

-eating solid food: bananas are his favorite, but he also tried pear, apple, mango, squash and sweet potato (that was the new one today). He has this mesh thing and we put mango inside and he loves sucking on it.

-enjoys a lot peek-a-boo, mirrors and tickles: even if he is tired, those always make him happy

-rolling: this is a hard one, because he doesn't like to lie on is tummy. But since he doesn't like it, he is getting better at rolling from tummy to back. The opposite only happened once in his lifetime :) One funny thing that he can do, though, is moving in circles with his feet pivoting around his head :)

-napping!!! finally it's happening!!! he can take naps!!! not cat naps, regular 1 or 2 hour-long naps. At night he is waking up a bit more, though, we think he is practicing all these exciting achievements :)  But he breastfeds and goes back to sleep without any problem. 

And many many more amazing things like saying papapapa (he is calling dad in Spanish!), discovering his feet, and learning how to poop solid food:) A whole world of joy for him and us!

Zayn sigue descubriendo el mundo a una velocidad increible. Ahora ya es capaz de coger el sonajero, moverlo para hacer ruido y llevarselo a la boca. Tambien es experto en estar boca abajo y aguantar la cabeza. Pero como esta posicion no le gusta demasiado, pues ya ha aprendido a girarse! increible!!! nos pillo totalmente por sorpresa, porque hasta ahora no habia dado senyales de que pudiera darse la vuelta solo. Pero si! y ademas lo hizo dos veces seguidas, que talentoso :) Otra de sus nuevas habilidades es chuparse el dedo o los dedos :) se chupa el pulgar perfectamente, lo que esta muy bien, porque asi se puede calmar cuando lo necesita (nunca ha querido el chupete), pero a veces tambien se chupa mas dedos, cuantos mas mejor!! Creemos que se esta preparando para que le salgan los dientes y chuparse los dedos le debe ayudar a calmar el dolor. De hecho a veces tiene ratitos de dolor pero es muy bueno y no se queja mucho. Solo hace ruiditos en plan tiranosaurus como dice Naeem...  Que mas? sigue siendo un parlanchin, especialmente por las manyanas, y cada vez tiene mas sonidos en su repertorio. Los nuevos son jaaaaao, aaagu, gangan, y bruuuubru. Y tambien sigue siendo un babosito. Vamos a un ritmo de tres baberos diarios (o mas).

Y ademas de sus nuevos talentos, pues sigue siendo un simpatico y le encanta socializar. Le encanta que le den besitos y que le hablen y presten atencion. Por las noches sigue durmiendo 5-6 horas de un tiron casi siempre y luego se despierta para mamar cada dos horas o asi, o sea, tres veces mas o menos porque se tira en la cama 12 horas en total, de 9 a 9. Pero como mama en la cama, pues es genial porque ni me entero. Y como por la noche duerme tanto, pues durante el dia casi no hace siestas. Solo hace una seguro, la de las 11 o 12 de la manyana, que dura normalmente entre 30 y 60min. Y luego pues depende del dia se duerme mas o menos, pero normalmente son siestas de 15-20min como mucho. Asi que no me da tiempo de hacer mucho! pero bueno, mientras duerma por la noche estamos felices.  

Este mes se nos rompio la camara de fotos, asi que no hay muchas, pero almenos las que hay muestran sus nuevos talentos :) Naeem me acaba de regalar una camara, asi que en el mes de Abril tendremos muchas mas, y en Espanya!!!

In the last two weeks Zayn has become a "big baby". He already does many big-baby things like grabbing and shaking his rattle or eating his hands. He is fascinated with his hands and he looks at them, take them to his mouth, lick them, look again,.... His morning speeches have become shorter in words and he spends most of the time playing with his hands instead. But from time to time he talks too, and he is sooo funny! He is still a very charming baby and he smiles to everybody that talks to him.

He is also a big-baby regarding his sleeping. Now he sleeps 5 hours straight almost every night, and he goes to bed between 9 and 10pm, which is perfect for us! He's already upgraded from the moses basket to the cosleeper and he seems very happy about it. When he wakes up first time during the night, I breastfeed him in the bed and usually he stays there with us. It's a pleasure to have him in the bed with us. He is so warm and sweet! He also has started to take some naps in the cosleeper. He doesn't have a schedule for naps yet, some days he naps a lot and others very little. But this makes every day very entertaining for me :)

En las ultimas dos semanas Zayn se ha convertido en un "bebe grande". Ya hace muchas cositas de bebe-grande como coger un sonajero y moverlo o comerse las manos. Esta fascinado con sus manos y se las mira y remira, se las lleva a la boca y las chupa, se las vuelve a mirar.... Sus discursos matutinos ahora han disminuido en palabras y en lugar de hablar tanto se pasa el tiempo jugando con sus manitas. Pero de vez en cuando tambien habla, y es de lo mas divertido! Sigue siendo un bebe muy simpatico y regala sonrisas a todo aquel que se le acerque a decirle cositas.

Tambien es un bebe grande en cuanto al suenyo. Ahora ya duerme 5 horas seguidas casi cada noche y se va a dormir casi siempre entre 9 y 10, perfecto para nosotros! Y ya lo hemos pasado del moises al cosleeper y no ha parecido importarle. Cuando se despierta la primera vez le doy el pecho en la cama y normalmente ya se queda alli a dormir con nosotros. Es una gozada tenerlo en la cama entre nosotros dos. Es tan calentito y dulce :) Y algunas siestas ya las ha empezado a hacer en el cosleeper. Para las siestas no tiene horario todavia y algunos dias duerme mucho y otros poco. Pero eso hace que todos los dias sean muy entretenidos para mi :)

 

 

What a week of discovery! que semana de descubrimientos! Two days after he discovered that he can grab the parrot hanging from his gym, he found that he can grab my hair too!
(even though I cut it pretty short). Dos dias despues de descubrir que puede agarrar el loro que cuelga de su gimnasio, descubrio que tambien puede agarrar mi pelo! (a pesar de que lo llevo bastante corto).

 

Pero lo mas divertido fue la noche del miercoles, cuando estabamos cenando tilapia
(nuestro pescado blanco preferido) con broccoli y se me ocurrio acercar un ramillete de broccoli a la nariz de Zayn. Penso que era de lo mas divertido y se echo a reir. No solo una sonrisa, sino a reir de verdad. A Naeem y a mi nos hizo tanta gracia que tambien nos pusimos a reir y cuanto mas reiamos nosotros mas reia el. Asi que tuvimos el primer ataque de risa familiar, porque cada vez que acercaba el broccoli a la nariz de Zayn, otra vez volviamos a empezar. Nos estuvimos riendo un buen rato, hasta que se nos saltaron las lagrimas. Nunca pense que un bebe podria traer tantos momentos de felicidad!

 

The funniest moment this week was on Wed night, when we were eating tilapia (our favorite white fish) with broccoli and I thought of approaching a little piece of broccoli to Zayn's nose. He thought that was the funniest thing and started laughing. Not just smiling, but really laughing. Naeem and I started laughing too and the more we laughed the more he did. So we had the first family laughter attack, because every time I tried to get the broccoli closer to Zayn's nose, we started again. We were laughing a long time, until tears came to our eyes. I never thought that a baby could bring so many happy moments!

We can't believe he is already 3 months old! No  nos podemos creer que ya tenga 3 meses! Yesterday I had to pack away a box of clothes 0-3 months, some outfits he wore just once! I guess we'll have to have more kids to get to use them :) Ayer empaquete una caja de ropita de 0-3 meses, algunos trajecitos se los ha puesto solo una vez! Tendremos que tener mas ninyos para que los puedan usar :)

 

Yesterday (March 3 2009) he had a big achievement: he intentionally GRABBED the little parrot hunging from his gym. Not only grabbed once, but he played with it for a good 10 min, grabbing and letting it go and pulling it close to him. It was amazing! Specially because I had spent the whole morning showing him a rattle first and his little frog later to see if he'll grab them and I was totally unsuccessful. And when Naeem got home he put him on his little gym, close enough to reach the parrot and... tada! he was totally interested in it! It was really fun to see him playing so excited!

 

Ayer hizo un gran avance: cogio por primera vez, intencionadamente, el lorito que cuelga de su gimnasio. No solo lo cogio una vez, sino que jugo con el durante 10min o mas, cogiendolo y soltandolo y acercandoselo a el. Fue increible! Especialmente porque yo me habia pasado la manyana ensenyandole un sonajero y una ranita para ver si los cogia y nada... Y cuando Naeem llego a casa le puso en su gimnasio, cerquita del loro y... tada! resulto que le encanto! Fue muy divertido verle jugar tan feliz.

 

And the other big discovery of the week is that he loves the musical mirror that he has in the car. He doesn't  like being in the car and he often cries, but when he hears the music he gets silent and listens to it. It's great!

 

Y el otro gran descubrimiento de la semana es que le encanta el espejo musical que tiene en el coche. No le gusta ir en el coche y a veces llora, pero cuando oye la musica se calla y se pone a escuchar. Es genial!

 

And he keeps smiling and "talking". He even smiles when we are a bit far away, as soon as he hears our voices. It's such a gift for us!

 

Y sigue sonriendo y "hablando" muchisimo. Ya incluso sonrie cuando estamos un poco lejos, en cuanto oye nuestra voz. Es un regalazo! 

 

 

Zayn esta precioso, creciendo rapidisimo (no me puedo creer que ya haya ropita que no le sirva!). Nacio muy chiquitin (2.9Kg), pero ahora ya pesa 5Kg, asi que es una gozada ver como ya esta regordete y con michelines por todos sitios. Ahora ya sonrie mucho y esta empezando a "hablar" y nos morimos de la risa con sus gorgoritos. Tenemos unas conversaciones de lo mas divertidas :) Es un amor!

 

Zayn is so cute! He is growing really fast (I can't believe there are clothes that don't fit him anymore!). He was born little (6lb 5oz), but know he weighs 11lb, so it's a pleasure to see how big he got, with fat rolls everywhere. He already smiles a lot and started "talking" and we crack up with his coos. We have the most funniest conversations. He is so darling!!

Nuestro pequenyo nacio el 30 de Noviembre a las 8.15pm, ocho dias antes de la fecha prevista. Nacio en casa, como queriamos, y ademas en la banyera: fue una experiencia increible! El parto fue muy largo porque rompi aguas, pero solo por un poro pequenyo arriba, asi que me costo mucho dilatar. Pero tuvimos dos comadronas estupendas que nos ayudaron en todo el proceso e hicieron posible que pudiesemos tener a nuestro bebe de la manera que queriamos. Nacio muy redondito y rosita y esta muy sano. Peso 2.9 Kg y midio 49.5 cm.

Zayn was born on Nov 30th, 8 days before his due date. After a long but beautiful labor he was born in the water, at our home's bathtub. He weighted 6lb 5oz, measured 19.5 inches, and was all alert, pink and healthy. This is the story of his birth.

Hola Rosanna y Naeem: Hasta aqui llegararon las fotos (por mediación de Maika) de vuestro pequeño "tesoro", por eso queremos felicitaros por el nacimiento de Zayn,(ah, se me olvidaba presentarnos, somos los padres de Maika), ya pudimos ver que tiene a todos embelesados, y no es para menos, sobre todo con esas sonrisas que tiene aún estando dormidito, por eso no queriamos dejar de poneros estas letras para daros nuestra más sincera enhorabuena y que disfruteis "a tope" del bebé (pues crecen demasiado rápido), un cariñoso saludo. I recognized the birth-class reunion picture on the coach; we had the same picture with Krassen Jr. (either the same instructor or they all do this).

Anyway, what was funny was that one baby had come much earlier, (six weeks, if I remember), however, everything was fine and he was gaining weight tremendously after the birth. He was born to black parents and on the reunion picture he was literally twice the size of all the other babies. So, we the proud parents, sent the reunion picture to my parents in Bulgaria, to which we got this from my father:

"hey, is that Shaquille O'Neal's baby?"

Rosana, I love your account of the birth and your prode and pleasure during the whole process.  Most women I know make childbirth out to be the worst thing in the world :)  Desapite the pain, I agree that it was the most amazing thing I have ever done :)
